Every week, PBR Massachusetts holds an interactive chat through Twitter with our followers. Our goal is to be accessible. This is your chance to take advantage of our expertise. Ask questions to Dennis Healy, Massachusetts Scouting Director, about the recruiting process, upcoming high school season, specific prospects, PBR events, or anything else that may be on your mind.

We would like to thank all who participated, we enjoy bringing you knowledge and expertise on players and programs in your area.

Next week, we will be answering questions on either Tuesday or Wednesday, stay tuned.

Six of the top questions from the Ask.FM Q&A session on January 16th

I'm a 3rd year sophomore due to a rough freshman year with grades, but I'm a 6-5 lefty workhorse and have hit 94 mph on the radar gun. Any recommendations for schools that would disregard the bad start with grades?

PBR: If you keep improving in school you should be fine.

When you evaluate a young pitcher, what are you looking for/at specifically? Is it velo, mechanics, arm slot?

PBR: It's a combination of all those things and if he projects to get better and grow. If he’s 6-foot-3, 155-pounds with a good frame, you would think he should improve.

How many total official visits are you allowed?

PBR: The total number is five.

How important is it for an underclassmen to go to a college camp (at the school) to get exposure?

PBR: It is important if the player wants to get on that schools radar early.

What are some questions we should expect from coaches on a visit?

PBR: You should get questions about your academics, your aspirations academically and athletically, your past health with regards to baseball, your work ethic, what you are looking for in a college, and who else you are visiting.

So would a 1.7 or 1.8 pop time be possible? Would you be surprised if you saw it?

PBR: I would be shocked if I saw that pop time in a game setting.
