The Mid Atlantic Shocker / East Coast Royals Scout Day was held on Saturday, February 25 at their indoor facility in Berlin, MD. 40 athletes from the organization were in attendance to perform in front of the PBR Maryland Scouting staff. Sunday we released the Statistics from the event and today we give you our Early Thoughts from the event after letting it marinate.

OF/RHP Bryce Greenly looked very impressive during the workout after only recently being cleared to compete after a major knee injury shut him down almost a full year ago. The 2018 Virginia commit, ranked No. 4 in MD and No. 149 in the PBR Overall Rankings, had an impressive day showing off his two ability. Greenly took the mound to start the day off and was up to 85 mph on the bump in this early pen and looks primed to make a nice jump as the season moves on. His showed a late action breaking ball that should be a power pitch and then added in a nice short action cutter. At the plate, Greenly showed a fast bat making loud contact during his BP session. He was quick to the ball with nice extension through contact combined with his 6.72 speed on the 60-yard dash. Greenly's projectable frame and body show there is still room for more growth in this already impressive prospect.

Uncommitted 2017 Colin Green had a very solid workout on the day. The Parkside HS infielder was up to 85 from the infield and ran a 6.78 60-yard dash then followed it up with a 6.94 on his second run. Green had a level bat path at the plate and sprayed the ball in the middle during his BP session. He showed nice athleticism in the field to go with his arm strength.

Green's teammate and middle infield partner at Parkside, Connor Shockley has added noticable strength to his athletic frame. The USC-Sumter commit showed increase in arm strength as well as gap to gap ability at the plate.

Staying with the Parkside HS theme, Andrew Smith younger brother of Towson freshmen Matt Smith, is another offensive presence in the family showing a quick bat at the plate and pull side power. Smith then showed off his arm strength behind the plate getting up to 78 mph with his best pop time at 1.98.

Reagan Ennis is a very interesting 2018 left-handed outfielder at Salisbury Christian. The Strong framed (6-foot-3, 215-pound) outfielder impressed across the board with his arm strength, speed and potential at the plate. Ennis showed fast bat speed at the plate with pull side pop. Ennis was a consistent 84-85 from the outfield showing athletic actions, topping out at 87 mph. He then finished up the day running a 7.09 60-yard dash.

Uncommitted 2017 Josh Iseman is an interesting prospect at Kent County HS. He has a 6-foot-4, 230-pound athletic frame. He was up to 81 mph on the mound and showed a level bat path with some strength, getting up to 90 mph on his exit velocity.

2018 Jaret Lazich showed nice athleticism in the field with a level bat path and quick hand at the plate. He looks to be a very interesting middle infield prospect combined with his 6.60 60-yard dash.

Quick Hits
Youth came out and impressed in a big way at the scout day, with many young projectable players impressing during the day. 2020 OF/RHP Austin Biddle at Polytech (DE) was up to 82 mph on the mound with a loose arm action and projectable young frame...2021 OF/LHP Dylan Pasta is one to keep an eye on. He has a compact frame at 5-foot-6 and showed off quick hands at the plate and nice athleticism and arm strength. Pasta then ran a 6.7 60-yard dash...Hunter Selzer is an interesting 2020 RHP at Stephen Decatur. He displayed excellent body control throughout his delivery throwing with easy effort from a high ¾ slot while sitting 75-78 on the day and good feel for his breaking ball...2020 Peyton Willey of Sussex Tech (DE) has a projectable durable frame already at 6-foot-3, 182-pounds. He had a long and loose arm action pitching with easy effort and topped out at 80 on the mound...2018 Ryan Duncan of Stephen Decatur was 78-80 on the mound from the left side on the day with room for more in the tank. Duncan also shows some two way potential...Washington HS SS Riley Horner had a solid workout on the day, running a 7.09, showing some arm strength (77mph), and a short swing utilitzing the middle of the field.
