Scouting Report

5-foot-11, 165 pound outfielder has a chance to be an elite runner at the high school level. Lean athletic frame that projects to carry another 20-30 pounds. Still developing at the plate. mid/pull line drive approach. Above avg. athlete in the outfield, long arm action, avg. carry and accuracy to target, tops out in the mid 80s. One of the few 2022 invites for the 2019 Elite 50.

Q. You were the first player from the 2022 class to make your commitment.  Why did you choose Creighton?

I chose Creighton because I felt that it was the best school for me.  I have always enjoyed a challenge in life and I feel Creighton will provide that.  I want to become a dentist one day and Creighton has a great Dentistry School. Also, after going to multiple Creighton Baseball Camps, I really liked how they organized their workouts and drills.  I enjoyed conversing with the coaches there too. When I was at the camp, I met some of the players on the team and I could tell there was a sense of community throughout the campus. After building a relationship with Coach Gandossy and getting to know him, then speaking with Coach Servais, I knew Creighton was the best fit form me.

Q. What other schools were you considering?

I was in communication with Duke, West Point Military Academy, and the United States Air Force Academy. I was also interested in and invited to a couple other D1 School Camps.

Q. Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?

The coaching staff first saw me when I was at a Creighton camp when I was in the 8th Grade. Ever since then I have gone to a couple of other Creighton Camps and I began to establish a relationship with Coach Gandossy.

Q. Was there a one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Not really… Creighton has a lot to offer and that is why I chose them---from their facilities, staff, academic reputation and campus. I could really see myself playing there. I really enjoyed walking through the campus and seeing all their facilities.

Q. Who has helped you the most to get where you are today?

My parents have helped me the most. They allowed me to follow my dreams and they were always there for me. I would not be where I am today if it were not for my father and mother. They have done so much for me. I will forever be grateful for how much they have sacrificed for me to get where I am today. They were at every game and most of my practices to cheer me on and help me in any way necessary. I could not have asked for better parents. They have been with me through all my ups and downs of my athletic career. In fact, my parents have always put me in a position to succeed. They placed me in environments to grow and develop like going to Creighton Prep and playing for the Nebraska Prospects Scout Team, which allowed me to get the exposure I needed to achieve my goal of playing D1 baseball.

They created opportunities for me to be trained by Jeff Leise, Max Fearnow and Dwayne Hosey. As well as coached by Alex Hale (Prospects 2022 Scout Team) Eddie Acosta (29ers Baseball, Chicago), Anthony Scioli (Pacesetters 14U) and Nick Bartholomew Gladiators 13U Black). These people were instrumental in my growth and development as a player and a person.

Q. What are some of your goals over the next three years of High School?

Even though I have achieved one of my main goals, I still have a LOT of work to do. In addition to getting stronger and faster (sub 6.5 60) staying healthy, and becoming the best baseball player possible with God’s help, my main goals are to compete with my teammates to help Creighton Prep win more state titles and eventually help Creighton University win another Big East Title.

Q. What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

I have two. One that propels me anytime doubt creeps in was when I was 13 and playing in an elimination game. I had been in a slump the whole tournament and there were two outs and the bases were loaded in the bottom of the last inning. My team was down 2 runs and I hit a walk off grand slam to advance my team to the semifinals. We ended up winning the tournament after that.

The most memorable baseball moment in high school was while being a freshman at a school like Creighton Prep and being fortunate enough to get to called up on the Varsity for the State Tournament. Getting to be around the upperclassmen, being in the dugout and learning from Coach Mooney was very humbling and exciting.

Q. Who is the best player you have competed against?

I have been fortunate enough to play against some amazing players but I think the best player I have ever played against would be TayShaun Walton. I played against him in a tournament in Ft. Meyers, Florida.
