PBR OK strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

This fall, PBR OK will continue highlighting some of the top ranked and uncommitted players in the 2019 class as they prepare to enter their senior seasons. Today, we take a look at an athletic two-way player who could make an impact in the middle infield and on the mound at the next level, Tanner Holliman from Oklahoma Christian School.

Scouting Report

10/29/17
A 5-foot-11, 170-pound lean and athletic build. Works from an average tempo delivery with quality leg drive and athleticism down the mound. Arm action is full, fast, and clean coming through a high-¾ slot. Four-seam fastball sits 80-83 with occasional arm side run. Cutter is thrown with the same arm speed and same velo showing late and tight cut on the glove side. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape at 63-67 mph with gradual break. Also mixed in a changeup with slight fade. In the game, showed good life on both fastballs getting weak contact. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a an upright, slightly knock-kneed set-up with high set hands and some rhythm throughout. Uses a moderate knee-knock leg kick, hands are short to the ball, bat path is uphill with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach with some lift, found some barrels, showed consistent bat speed. Exit velo of 88 mph. Runs a 6.79 60. Defensively, shows quick and active feet, moves well laterally, and has above average hands. Throws from multiple slots with some accuracy and advanced arm strength, 85 mph across the diamond. In the game, stayed on a slider for a single in his first at bat and squared up a fly ball to left in his second.

2/4/18
A 6-foot, 175-pound lean and athletic build with some strength and room to add more. On the mound, works from an up-tempo athletic and simple delivery with an up down and out leg kick before gliding to the plate. Arm action is long in the back, making a big circle before coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball flashes some arm-side run at 82-83 mph and touches 84, mostly strikes. Slider has gradual break with 10/4 shape, 69-70 mph. Changeup sits 71-72 mph and flashes late fade, thrown with full arm speed. Overall, Holliman is a talented athlete that will likely continue to get better on the mound and get more out of his quick arm, a prospect for many colleges to follow.

A 6-foot, 175-pound lean and athletic frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even and balance knock-kneed set up. Uses a moderate knee-knock leg kick load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with length and some bat speed. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach with lift and some pop, mostly barrels, 93 mph exit velo. Defensively, shows above average hands and feet. Throws with a moderate arm stroke through a high-¾ slot, 86 mph with some accuracy.

6/6/18
A 6-foot, 175-pound lean and athletic frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before striding down the mound. Arm action has length in the back making a full and quick circle before coming through an over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 81-83 mph. Breaking ball has slurve shape with depth at 65-67 mph. Changeup shows consistent fade at 67-68 mph. In the game, it took Holliman a batter to find his rhythm, but once he did he struck out the last three he faced.
