OK Rankings Update: Class of 2021

Andy Urban
OK/MO/KS Executive Scouting Director

Since our last major updated in early September where we saw a large influx of players and risers to the list, we have continue to attend games and host events this fall. Though this rankings update won't be nearly as massive, there are significant movers and additions to be noted. We typically cover the top 5 prospects as well, but with no recent changes, we will spend more time focusing on risers and newcomers. For more info on our rankings process, click here.

The Risers
As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our latest rankings.

Carson Benge 3B / RHP / Yukon, OK / 2021

The lean and projectable athlete with baseball in his blood has been one of the top left-handed hitters in the state for years now, but Benge's athleticism has continued to shine brighter on the mound. This fall the Oklahoma State commit see his stock rising as many scouts have reported Benge throwing multiple 92s and one report of touching 93 as well.

Jackson Hill C / 3B / Deer Creek, OK / 2021

Every year there is a player in OK that makes a huge off season jump going into their senior year. This year, that player is C/RHP Jackson Hill. Hill was stellar at the OK Fall Prospect Games at Enid. He showed some of the best pop times in the state behind the plat as low as 1.92. Hill also jumped on the mound and was up to 88 mph with a ton of strikes and two legitimate breaking balls.

Christian McClendon OF / RHP / Edmond Memorial , OK / 2021

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound broader shouldered right-hander just keeps getting more athletic. Dropping his laser 60 time down to 6.79 and increasing his exit velo to 93 off the tee, McClendon keeps getting better every time we see him. The outfielder shows clean actions defensively and put on a show in batting practice at the SWAT Scout Day.

Grayson Hall OF / SS / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2021

Another outfielder who has seen his speed really tick up into his senior year is Hall form Bishop Kelley. The lean athlete rolled off a 6.78 laser timed 60 at the OK Fall Prospect Games before showing a very strong round of BP from the right side. Hall also showed well above average arm strength.

Caden Mueller SS / OF / Bridge Creek, OK / 2021

Yet another speedy outfielder who is seeing his stock rise with his speed is Caden Mueller. The 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitter really burns, posting an event best 6.65 laser times 60 at the OK Fall Prospect Games at OKC. A solid round of BP and a strong arm from the outfield saw Mueller shoot up the rankings in this update.

Newcomers
As we head into the senior season for these 2021s, there are not typically many newcomers after covering this class for four years. However, we did catch back up with a couple outstanding players in the Class A Fall State Championship Tournament and a catcher from the SWAT Scout Day.

Kelln Henderson LHP / OF / Canute, OK / 2021

A 6-foot-4 lean and althletic left-hander who pounds the strike zone with near 90 mph fastballs, the Oklahoma Western commit is an easy arm to dream on with a bright future.

Keenan Smith RHP / SS / Canute, OK / 2021

A quick-twitch two-way athlete with bloodlines, Smithproduced a great performance on the mound, sitting 84-85 touching 86. The Connors State commit got stronger as the the game went on and complete

Max Cullison C / 3B / Norman North, OK / 2021

At a high school thick with catching talent Max Cullison adds his name to the list at Norman North. The 6-foot, 185-pound backstop showed pop times right around 2.00 and and exit velo of 84 mph from the right-side.
