SEASON OUTLOOK
In a class that has long been dominated by perennial power houses, the 2018 Canute Trojans may quickly break into the conversation for state champion contention with a stable of young talent and some senior leadership from Merick Moore and Nick Janning. The Trojans return six starters and maybe even more importantly, five pitchers with more than 15 innings each.

Offensively, Moore, junior Trace Maddox, and freshman Keenan Smith will lead the way. Smith, an incoming freshman showed advanced athleticism this fall and could be a tone setter for Canute as his baseball skill continue to refine.

On the mound, right-handers Smith and Maddox will again lead the charge along with freshman left-hander Kelln Henderson. These young arms will be backed up by some experience and could be a tough group to match up with.

Defensively, junior Kyler Williams will captin from his spot in center field.
