WESTMOORE JAGUARS

OVERALL RECORD: 21-13

DISTRICT RECORD: 12-2

POWER 25 WINS: 5

PLAYERS TO WATCH

JACKSON BLACK, INF, 2023, CONNORS STATE COMMIT

TANNER FALLWELL, C/UTL, 2024

CONNOR CAVNAR, C/1B, 2024

KAEHLER STILLINGS, UTL, 2023, OCU COMMIT

JACOB WEHBA, INF, 2025

JOSIAH KEMP, OF, 2026, OKLAHOMA COMMIT

MASON LINDQUIST, RHP, 2023, OCU COMMIT

GAGE GEIGER, OF, 2024

HOLDEN WOODS, RHP, 2023

Coach Mcguire and the Jaguars got off to a hot start to the season winning 4 out of their first 5 games including an early win over number one ranked Union.  They then went on to have a tough stretch on the Texas trip that saw them drop 4 in a row and have to go back to the drawing board and try to right the ship.  They would go on to rebound nicely winning district 6A-1 by two games and picking up big victories against some of the state’s best along the way.  The Jaguars got hot late in the year last year that saw them make a run all the way to the State semi finals.  They return a strong core of that lineup from last year and can really stretch their lineup deep with impact guys littered all over the field.  They have a strong mix of speed and power throughout the lineup with battle tested barrel control guys sprinkled in.  On the mound they are led by senior Mason Lindquist and he’s shown the ability to work deep into games against tough lineups.  The Jaguars have finished the regular season with a tough stretch against some of the state’s best and enter the postseason winning 8 out of their last 12 and will look to make another deep run in 2023.

MOORE LIONS

OVERALL RECORD: 15-16

DISTRICT RECORD: 7-7

POWER 25 WINS: 2

PLAYERS TO WATCH

JAYSHAUN SYKES, MIF, 2024

COLBY MANN, INF/RHP, 2023,

TY TALKINGTON, UTL/RHP, 2025

REESE VOEGELE, C, 2023

COOPER HOWE, RHP, 2024

Coach Teel and the Lions enter the regionals a game under .500 but have the type of team that teams do not get excited about when they see them in the other dugout.  The Lions have played in 14 games this year that were decided by 3 runs or less with a record of 8-6 in those contests.  You can tell when you watch them play that they understand how to compete and while they might not have some of the higher end talent as some of their other 6A foes, they have a strong collection of grinders that will make it very difficult on the other dugout.  Junior middle infielder Sykes has continued to get better each year and now has solidified himself as one of the top leadoff type hitters in the state.  Colby Mann has been the guy for the Lions both on the mound and in the middle of the lineup for the past couple of years and they will look to his senior presence and experience to try and do some damage and make a run to the 6A state tournament.

EDMOND MEMORIAL BULLDOGS

OVERALL RECORD: 20-16

DISTRICT RECORD: 7-7

POWER 25 WINS: 4

PLAYERS TO WATCH

BROCK COLEMAN, LHP/OF, 2023

COOPER KARDOKUS, INF, 2026

RHETT WINCHESTER, OF, 2025

JASE WINCHESTER, INF, 2026

CARSON LOYD, INF/RHP, 2023, NOC TONKAWA COMMIT

NOAH ENTREKIN, LHP, 2025

ETHAN FRITTS, RHP, 2023, NOC ENID COMMIT

GRANT BRUNNER, INF/RHP, 2023

JOSH ERRICO, MIF, 2023, GARDEN CITY COMMIT

JUSTIN TRACY, OF/LHP, 2025

Coach Holman and the Bulldogs have had a bit of an up and down spring that saw them finish 4 games over .500 but there is certainly a lot of room for optimism heading into this postseason and beyond.  They played with one of the younger rosters across 6A with multiple younger talents shining throughout the year.  The Winchester brothers, Cooper Kardokus, and Justin Tracy have all flashed the makings of becoming true impact players in 6A and they’ve relied upon those guys to take up important roles throughout the 2023 season.  They also have a young arm in Noah Entrekin that logged a ton of important innings and with added strength could fill in nicely into the number one spot in the rotation in the future.  It isn’t just the young guys that opposing teams have to look out for as the Bulldogs sport some experienced seniors looking to get themselves back into the state tournament.  With the amount of experience they have and the amount gained by the younger players, don’t be surprised if their talent shines in the brightest moments and they make a sneaky run throughout the postseason.

CAPITOL HILL REDWOLVES

OVERALL RECORD: 10-27

DISTRICT RECORD: 0-12

POWER 25 WINS: 0

The Redwolves and coach Moore have had their difficulties when it comes to playing against their 6A opponents finishing with an 0-20 record against them but were able to rattle off 10 victories throughout the year against similar programs with similar resources.  While it might be too tall a task to compete with 6A’s best, they continue to show the ability to handle even-level playing field opponents with a 10-7 record outside of 6A.
