AJ Hemmelgarn, RHP/SS, Sidney Lehman Catholic HS, 2015

6-foot-0, 150 pounds with a slim, athletic frame. Two way player.  In the field, he shows above average hands and average arm strength.  Took good routes to the ball.  Topped out at 72 mph across the infield.  At the plate, he uses a straight on stance with short stride.  Smooth load.  Showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields.  Linedrive/contact type hitter.  On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot with short arm action.  Somewhat quick delivery.  His fastball offers some arm-side run while sitting at 74-77 mph.  Also used a 64-69 mph curveball that showed gradual 11/5 movement.

Anson James, C, Marion Pleasant HS, 2015

6-foot-1, 150 pounds right handed hitting catcher.  Behind the plate, he throws through a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm action.  Needs to quicken up transfer.  Displays above average footwork.  Recorded pop times between 2.27-2.31.  At the plate, he offers a big strong swing that can show power at times.  Tendency to bar arm during load, which causes swing to get long at times.  Easy fix; just needs to focus on keeping hands inside ball. 

Brandon Miller, 1B/RHP, Westerville Central HS, 2017

5-foot-6, 170 pounds right handed hitting first baseman.  Young prospect who played the field, and also pitched an inning.  At first base, he offers average hands and a clean transfer.  Needs to improve quickness in footwork.  At the plate, he uses a balanced straight on stance and short stride.  Smooth load.  Level swing path with linedrive production.  Will only get better as he physically matures.  On the mound, he throws through a 3/4 arm slot with short arm action.  Smooth tempo.  Sticks strictly to the knuckleball on the mound.  The knuckle sat between 56 and 60 mph.

Brett Bosel, 3B, Princeton HS, 2015

6-foot-1, 210 pounds with an athletic build.  In the field, he attacks and plays through the ball.  Hands are improving.  At the plate, the right handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance, and uses a short stride.  The strong right handed hitter uses a level path and drives down through the ball.  Showed some power in game action driving a double in the left center gap. 

Chris Wooten, RHP, Lancaster HS, 2014

6-foot-0, 210 pounds with a big stocky build.  On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 slot with quick arm speed.  Smooth tempo.  Hitters struggled picking up the ball out of his hand.  His 79-81 mph fastball showed some late life in the zone.  He also mixed in a 10/4 tilt, 64 mph breaking ball.  The bender shows above average depth, and gradual movement.

Corbin Dennis, RHP/1B, Upper Arlington HS, 2014

6-foot-1, 188 pounds with a big athletic frame.  Projects better as a pitcher at the next level.  In the field, he shows good footwork with a quick exchange.  Registered a top arm velocity of 80 mph across the diamond.  At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance with a somewhat long stride.  Level swing.  Strong kid that will put balls in the gap from time to time.  On the mound, he throws from a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action.  Clean delivery.  Showed good command of an 81-83 mph fastball with some arm-side run.  He also used a 65-67 mph 11/5 curveball, and a 75 mph changeup.  Showed a drop down high 70’s fastball through a low 3/4 slot.

Dan Mendenhall, C/3B, Walsh Jesuit HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 195 pounds with a big strong frame.  A workhorse behind the plate; always backing up plays, and puts himself in the right spots.  Showed good blocking ability behind the plate.  Kept blocked balls fairly close to body not allowing runners to move up.  At the plate, he offers a smooth right handed stroke.  Linedrive type hitter.

Daniel Nyquist, OF/RHP, Lebanon HS, 2014

5-foot-10, 190 pound outfielder with a strong frame.  Registered a 4.36 home to first time.  Very aggressive on the bases, always looking to take the next base.  In the outfield he uses a high ¾ arm slot, with short arm action.  Plays through the ball.  Needs to quicken transfer.  His best attribute is his right handed stick.  Starts in a straight on crouched position.  Uses an inside out type of swing.  Displays a short stroke that can produce substantial power to all fields.  Registered a top exit velocity of 83 mph off the tee.  On the mound, his 75-78 mph fastball showed slight arm-side run.  He also mixed in a 69-71 mph curveball, and a 69-70 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed. 

David Chrostowski, OF/3B, Lebanon HS, 2014

6-foot-0, 175 pounds with a thin athletic frame.   Ran a home to first time of 5.11.  Throws from a near over the top slot with short arm action.  Displays average hands and footwork.  Throws on an uphill plane.  Top arm speed of 71 mph from the outfield.  At the plate, he uses a straight on stance with short stride.  Back leg tends to be stiff through contact.  Displays a short compact swing that can hit to all fields.  Decent bat speed.  Linedrive type of hitter.  Registered an exit velocity of 80 mph off the tee.

David Storer, C, Upper Arlington HS, 2014

5-foot-11, 175 pound catching prospect.  Registered a home to first time of 5.22.  Throws from a high ¾ slot, with short arm action.  Recorded pop times between 2.18-2.34.  Has a quick exchange, and is accurate with his throws.  Would like to see him quicken up his feet, and create a wider base.  At the plate, the right handed hitter starts in a tall stance and uses a short stride.  No real weight transfer through contact.  Level swing that offers linedrive production.  Top exit velocity of 82 mph off the tee.

Edward Williams, RHP, Highland HS, 2014

6-foot-3, 170 pounds with a tall lanky frame.  Throws from a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action.  Smooth tempo.  Regular effort in delivery.  Minimal hip turn.  Showed good command of a 77-80 mph fastball.  His out pitch is his 73-76 mph slider with gradual left to right movement.  He also mixed in a 73-74 mph changeup, which he threw at near fastball arm speed.

Jacob Schubert, SS/3B, Cambridge HS, 2014

5-foot-10, 190 pound with a big solid frame.  Registered a 5.01 home to first time.  In the field, he uses a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action.   Projects better as a third baseman at the next level.  Top arm velocity of 70 mph across the infield.  Offers average hands, and very good accuracy with throws.  At the plate, he uses a balanced straight on set-up with an early load.  Looks a little stiff in the box.  Strong kid that shows pull power ability. Slightly uphill bat path.  Reached a top exit velocity of 70 mph off the tee.

Jared Mitchell, MIF, Lebanon HS, 2014

5-foot-10, 150 pound infield prospect with an athletic frame.  Registered a 5.17 home to first time.  Uses short arm action in the field through a high ¾ slot.   Features good glove work, and reached a top velocity of 66 mph across the infield.  Projects better as a second baseman.  At the plate he starts with a balanced slighty open stance.  Displays an uphill bat path with adequate use of lower half.   Tendency to cast hands away from body.  Uses the entire field and is a line drive type of hitter.  Registered a 73 mph exit velocity off the tee.

John Kunakowsky, RHP/3B, Brecksville Broadview Heights HS, 2014

5-foot-10, 200 pound pitcher/third baseman with a big frame.  Two way prospect.  Ran a 5.12 home to first time.  In the field, he shows average hands, and plays well through the ball. Registered a top arm velocity of 77 mph across the infield.  Bat is his top tool.  Has a strong right handed swing that will spray the gaps.  Starts with a slightly closed stance and uses a short stride.  Uphill bat path.  Off the tee he registered a top exit velocity of 86 mph.  On the mound, he throws from an over the top slot with short arm action.  Smooth tempo.  Fills up the zone with his 76-79 mph fastball.  His out pitch is a 12/6 tilt, 70-71 mph curveball thrown at near fastball arm speed.

Kevin Chonko, C, Nordonia HS, 2014

6-foot-3, 200 pounds with a tall athletic frame.  Registered a home to first time of 4.83 seconds.  Throws from a near over the top arm slot, with short arm action.  Has a strong arm that allows for good carry on his throws.  Registered pop times between 2.20-2.24.  At the plate, he uses a tall narrow stance with a long stride.  Contact type hitter.  Displays a short compact swing that offers linedrive production.    Uses a two-piece approach.

Mathis Newman, OF/RHP, Upper Arlington HS, 2014

6-foot-0, 185 pounds with an average frame.  Shows ability to be a two way guy at the next level.  Ran a 4.64 home to first time.  In the outfield, he plays well through the ball, allowing him to create good pace on his throws.  Reached a top arm velocity of 85 mph from the outfield.  At the plate, he uses a smooth left-handed stroke, with a short stride.  Was a little pull happy in batting practice, but showed ability to drive the ball to all fields in game action.  Reached a top exit velocity of 78 mph off the tee.  On the mound, Newman throws from a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action. Smooth delivery with easy effort.  Offers an 80-82 mph fastball that shows some late life in the zone.  He mixed in a 66-69 mph curveball that featured near 12/6 action.  He also occasionally used a 67 mph changeup that he threw at near fastball arm speed.

Mike Sheplavy, 3B, Brecksville Broadview Heights HS, 2014

5-foot-11, 185 pound third baseman.  Ran a 4.9 home to first time.  In the field, he shows good accuracy through a high ¾ slot with short arm action.  Topped out at 75 mph across the infield.  Tends to be a little flat with footwork.  At the plate, he offers a smooth left handed stroke while adequately incorporating his lower half.  Starts with a straight on balanced stance.  Stride tends to dive toward the plate.  A linedrive type hitter that can and will use the entire field.  Registered a top exit velocity of 86 mph off the tee.

Patrick Corcoran, LHP, Hoover HS, 2014

6-foot-4, 175 pounds with southpaw.  Good pitchers frame.  On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with long arm action.  Slow tempo.  Offered an 80-83 mph fastball with arm-side run.  Held that same velocity when throwing from the stretch.  He also mixed in a 72-74 mph curveball.  Showed good control of the 1/7 breaking ball keeping the pitch down in the zone.

Paul Smith, SS/RHP, Mount Vernon HS, 2014

5-foot-10, 155 pounds with average frame.  Two way prospect.  Registered a 4.73 home to first time.  In the field, he shows average hands and decent range.  Top velocity of 72 mph across the infield.  Needs to play through the ball.  At the plate, he features a slightly open stance with short stride.  A line drive type of hitter with level bat path.  Tends to cut off his swing not allowing for full extension.  Reached a top exit velocity of 67 mph.  On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm action.  Smooth overall tempo.  Some effort in delivery.  His fastball sat 75-77 mph and he also mixed in a 62-65 mph curve with 11/5 tilt.

Ricky SIlvestri, 3B/1B, CHCA HS, 2014

6-foot-0, 180 pounds with a good work ethic.  Just recently committed to Mars Hill in North Carolina to continue his baseball career.  Ran a home to first time of 5.25 seconds.  In the field, he features soft hands with clean footwork.  Throws from a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action.  Arm speed topped out at 75 mph across the infield.  His best tool is his left handed stick.  Uses an open stance with high leg kick.  At times his stride dives toward the plate cutting off his front side.  Overall a smooth swing with an uphill path.  Middle of the order guy.  Reached a top exit velocity of 86 mph off the tee.

Sam Ankrom, LHP, Thomas Worthington HS, 2014

6-foot-0, 215 pound left handed pitcher.  Throws from a high ¾ slot. Good tempo.  Tendency to throw across body.  His 80-84 mph fastball showed both run and cutting action at times.  He mixed in a 64-66 mph 2/8 curveball with good overall depth.  Also uses a 70-71 mph changeup.  Solid left handed pitcher that proved tough against left handed hitter in the fall league.

Sam Hardin, RHP/C, Elgin HS, 2014

6-foot-1, 168 pound with an athletic frame.  Two way prospect.  Behind the plate, he displays a short quick transfer.  Uses short arm action.  Registered pop times between 2.24 and 2.34.  At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance with somewhat long stride.  Average bat speed.  Displays a short stroke set for manufacturing linedrives.  Power will improve as lower half usage increases.  On the mound, he throws through a 3/4 arm slot with short arm action.  His fastball tended to be straight sitting at 77 mph.  His best pitch is his 12/6 breaking ball.  The pitch displayed late break while sitting at 64-65 mph. 

Spencer Yankle, C/2B, Olentangy Liberty HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 155 pound catcher with an athletic frame.  Registered a home to first time of 4.87 seconds.  Behind the plate, he recorded pop times of 2.10-2.19.  Throws from a near over the top arm slot with short arm action.  Tendency to open front side early on throws.  Topped out at 70 mph behind the plate.  At the plate, he uses a tall stance, and creates good pop for his size.  Smooth Load.  Quick bat.  Level swing path with good extension through contact.  Registered a 73 mph exit velocity off the tee.

Thaddeus Ferguson, 2B/OF, Mars Hill Academy, 2014

5-foot-10, 165 pounds with an athletic frame.  Registered a home to first time of 4.7 seconds.  Shows very good actions in the field.  Throws from a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action.  Displays soft hands with a quick transfer.  At the plate, the right handed hitter features a smooth stroke with good overall balance.  Open stance. Shows good extension through contact.  Line drive hitter with potential to spray the gaps.  Solid overall ball player.  Reached a top exit velocity of 78 mph off the tee. 

Ty Phelps, LHP, Meigs Local HS, 2015

6-foot-2, 185 pounds with a strong frame.  Good pitchers body.  Throws from a high 3/4 slot with short arm action.  Some quickness in arm speed.  His fastball sat 80-83 mph while showing minimal arm side run.  He offered two different breaking balls.  The 1/7 curveball sat between 68-71 mph and offers good overall depth.  Also mixed in a 75 mph slider.
