Prep Baseball Report Iowa

On Sunday, March 6th, Prep Baseball Report will return to SportsPlex West in Waukee, IA and hold it's 8th annual PBR IA Preseason All-State event. Perennially, this event gives us an additional opportunity to take a closer view at a number of Iowa's top talents we have seen prior; along with introducing us to some under-the-radar and underclass prospects that have made considerable strides recently.

Over the last five years; over 500 prospects who attended the PBR IA Preseason All-State event have committed to colleges to continue their baseball career. This is year should be no different. The PBR IA Preseason All-State historically brings out the most talented prospects in the state.

5 players in the 2023 class who are currently ranked in the PBR Top 10 for the state will be performing Sunday; along with 30+ from the Top 50; including numerous prospects who will be ranked in the near future attending as well.

Our staff is eagerly anticipating seeing a strong 2023 group highlighted by 2 players in the class who have already made their college commitments. Former Future Games participant and #1 ranked Sam Harris (Urbandale) who has committed to Duke and Max Burt (Mason City Newman) to Iowa.

Max Burt, C, Mason City Newman

Fresh off their participation in the 2021 PBR Future Games; we look for loud performances from Dallas Center-Grimes corner infielder Clayton Campidilli; along with Indianola shortstop Brady Blake who has intriguing potential on the left-side of the infield.

There will be host of the top uncommitted 2023 players in attendance as well looking to solidify their decisions in the coming weeks and months. Keep an eye on Colin Driscoll, Maddux Frese, Addison Binnie, Kaden Frommelt, Jaxon Schumacher, Glen Carlson, Davis Webb & a plethora of more prospects.

Two of the five 2024 grads in the state to have made a college commitment; Iowa commits Karson Grout (Mid-Prairie) and Myles Davis (Marion) will be in the event on Sunday. This event has annually been a launching point for recruitment for many sophomores in the state- look for some eye-popping performances by this group as they inch toward the national recruiting scene.

Look for many of these prospects to continue to cement their prospect status at the event; along with numerous other uncommitted players who are ready to leap to the fore-front in their respective classes. The event has continued to grow over the last seven years in attendance and talent. The 2022 PBR IA Preseason All-State event looks to be the deepest and most talent laden event yet.

Excited to see everyone in Waukee on Sunday!
