As we prepare for the upcoming 2022 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Paul Schuyler P/SS 2022 Cloud County CC Commit. 4-year starter. Hit 455 last Spring with a 1217 OPS. Quick hands at the plate & has the ability to change the game in many ways. He will be one of our top arms on the mound this spring. All State Honorable Mention last year.

Blake Urwin P/IF 2022 Simpson College Commit. 4-year varsity player. Led the pitching staff last Spring with a .304 ERA & 46 IP. Will be a middle of the order bat for us & is a solid glove in the infield.

Kyle Rutherford- LHP 2022 Uncommitted. Last Spring was second on the staff with 33 2/3 IP. WIll be a key part of our rotation again this Spring.

Landen Johnson P/IF 2023 Uncommitted. Solid hitter at the top of our order (had a 302 BA last Summer with 420 OBP) who will play up the middle for us. Has the ability to do some damage on the bases.

AJ Lucas P/C/IF 2024 Uncommitted. Last Summer as a freshman hit 319 & had a 3.00 ERA. Will be a middle of the order bat for us this Spring with the ability to hit for some power. 3-sport athlete.

Mason Chandler- P/IF 2024 Uncommitted. Played a lot for us as a freshman last year. Had a great Summer on the mound (27 IP 2.59 ERA) & we are looking forward to seeing what his Sophomore year will bring. 3-sport athlete.

Jacob Perrin- P/OF 2024 Uncommitted. Another one who played a lot for us as a freshman last year. He can run up the fastball 86-88 with a good slider & patrols CF really well. A lot of upside just needs more experience.

2022 OUTLOOK:

“We are excited about we can do this Spring. The key part for us will be the development of the Sophomore class, there might be times when we have 5-6 Sophomores in the lineup at the same time. We return a lot of experience from last year & we will see how much progress we have made. We will be opening up the season in the Cocoa Beach Spring Training Tournament in Florida March 17-19.”
