PBR Nevada Player of the Year: Easton Shelton

As the dust settles from the 2023 High School Season, the PBR Nevada staff is excited to announce we have selected one athlete who has excelled amongst his peers and will receive this year's Prep Baseball Report Nevada Player of the Year Award.

Easton Shelton put together an explosive year as his stock skyrocketed from the Fall to the Preseason and into the Season, he ascended up not only the PBR Nevada 2023 Class Rankings, but up the MLB Draft Boards as well. Leading the state in homeruns for the second year in a row with 12, the 6-foot-5, 230 pound prospect was the most feared hitter in the state and a staple in the heart of the Bishop Gorman lineup, leading them to the 2023 Class 5A State Championship. Shelton didn't only do it on a local scale, he proved himself through the Spring at some of the most elite High School tournaments in the country, NHSI, Boras Classic and the All Faith Classic. His .400 batting average while leading his team in runs at 39 and RBI's at 48 proves that he can swing it with authority among the best competition the country has to offer.

The senior has signed to continue playing baseball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but is projected to be selected in the upcoming MLB Draft beginning on July 9. 

The Prep Baseball Report Nevada staff has been diligently scouting and covering games at diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes, and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball. Dedication and coverage allows PBR a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the game of baseball.
