PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The fifth PBR Oklahoma Player Of The Week goes to junior C/3B for Shawnee HS and Arkansas-Little Rock recruit, Kade Self. In the most impressive week of individual performances this spring, Self’s numbers at the dish still stood out. Offensively, the 6-foot-2, 2015-pound right-handed hitter batted .800 (16-for-20) with five doubles, a triple, three home runs, seven walks, nine runs scored, and 12 RBI’s. The No. 9 ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2018 class has played a major role in Shawnee’s currently undefeated season.

(6A) Cross Factor, a OF/3B for Yukon and Cowley College recruit, batted .692 (9-for-13) with three doubles, three home runs, two walks, nine runs scored, and 10 RBI’s last week. Currently ranked No. 49 in Oklahoma’s 2017 class, Factor’s plate appearances combine for a  .688 Obp%, 1.769 Slg%,

(5A) Kade Self  (See Above)

(4A) Brett Owen, a SS for Blanchard and a Kansas State signee, hit .739 last week (17-for-23) with five doubles, a triple, and three home runs.  Currently ranked No. 27 in Oklahoma’s 2017 class, the lead-off hitter also had 14 RBI’s.

(3A) Brody Gibson, a senior C for Metro Christian Academy and Oral Roberts signee, put up excellent numbers at the plate and at the dish this week. Offensively, Gibson hit .454 (5-for-11) with four  RBI’s. On the mound, the right-hander tossed a five inning run-rule shortened no-hitter, posting eight strikeouts and four walks. The two-way athlete is currently ranked No. 17 in Oklahoma’s 2017 class.

 (B) Marshall Davis, an uncommitted 5-foot-11, 190-pound INF/RHP for Arapaho-Butler, batted .615 (8-for-13) this week with three doubles and seven RBI’s. The senior was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in the championship game of the Hinton tournament.

Honorable Mention

Blake Adams, a SS/RHP for Heritage Hall, pitched 7.1 innings last week, earning a win, striking out nine, and did not allow an earned run. Adam’s is currently ranked No. 19 in Oklahoma’s 2018 class.

Brady Ballard, an RHP/OF for Heritage Hall and a Cowley JC recruit, was 1-0 on the mound, hurling 5.2 innings and punching out 14. Ballard is currently ranked No. 39 in Oklahoma’s 2017 class.

Unfortunately, we will never know just how hot freshman OF/1B
Jace Bohrofen was for Westmoore last week. The left-handed hitter started off his week going 3-for-3 on Monday night with three home runs and five RBI’s.  Because Westmoore only played three games last week, two were run-rule shortened wins, and the incredibly hot Bohrofen was seemingly pitched around, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound athlete ended the week 3-for-4 with six RBI’s, nine runs scored, and seven walks. Bohrofen’s OBP was .909 for the week.

Dylan Caplinger

Zac DeLong,

Hunter Gibson
, a senior C for Oologah and a Wichita State commit, put together a week that could have easily earned him overall POTW any other week. The No.61 ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2017 class hit.687 (11-for-16) with four doubles, four home runs, 10 runs scored and 12 RBI’s. One of the 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-handed hitters bombs was a game winning grand slam.

Rhett Kouba
, a junior SS/RHP for El Reno, produced on the mound and at the dish. In one of the best pitchers duels of the year, Kouba threw eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, no walks, and punching out 12. From the bump, the No.6 ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2017 class was 1-0, tossed nine innings, gave up one earned run, and punched out 12.

Levi Prater, a LHP/OF for Byng and an Oklahoma commit, shined on the mound in his one start this week tossing a no-hitter in a run-ruled shorted five inning game. Praterstuck out 11 and only surrendered two walks.  The 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitter was also 3-for-7 at the dish with two doubles, two RBI’s, three runs scored, and five walks.  Prater is currently ranked No.18 in Oklahoma’s 2017 class.
