PBR OK's Top Moments in 2022: Cash Williams Goes off at Future Games

As 2022 comes to a close and we move into 2023 we want to take a look back at the top moments from the entire year covered by Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma.  We aim to provide the most comprehensive coverage of high school baseball in the State from our events as well as covering as many high school games as possible.  2022 was a banner year in Oklahoma with multiple players and programs making big jumps, picking up big hits, strong performances on the mound, and some crazy walk-off wins.  Be sure to follow along in 2023 as we aim to grow our coverage and be the true one-stop shop for all things Oklahoma High School baseball.

In a field loaded with all the best uncommitted talent from across the country, it was 2025 grad Cash Williams that made his way as one of the main standouts from the event.  It started with the workout day where the catcher/utility man set a Future Games record with a 1.78 pop time.  He also added a laser timed 6.61 sixty, a 99 mph exit velocity in BP, and showed off the raw arm strength throwing 87 mph from the outfield.  Williams then carried the strong momentum from the workout day into strong performances throughout the games with multiple extra base hits and showing the ability to control the barrel and drive the ball to all fields.  To top it off Williams even picked up an inning on the mound in the last game working an easy three outs.  Williams has some of the best tools in the entire country and is also one of the top players in the 2025 class that remains currently uncommitted.

Positional Profile: C/INF/OF

Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds.  Physical and athletic build with present strength.

Hit: RHH.  Starts with an open stance and upright posture.  Hands get set quickly and quietly into position at shoulder height.  High leg kick stride with strong weight stack into the lower half.  Works the lower half underneath the ball well to help match plane.  Shows quick hands through the zone and strong overall bat speed.  Shows some strength at contact and projects for true power potential.  Shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields.  Maintains balance well throughout the swing.

Defense: Behind the plate shows very quick transfers and footwork on throws to second with advanced carry to the bag registering pop times between 1.78-1.90 at 77 mph.  Receives the ball with a traditional posture and feel for pitch framing.  Blocks with good posture and quick feet and hips working to the ground.  In the infield attacks the ball with shorter footwork and lateral routes.  Fields the ball slightly deep into the body with developing glove action.  Registered 86 mph from across the diamond.  In the outfield attacks the ball with longer strides and controlled rhythm.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with a feel for glove action and clean exchanges.  Utilizes a shuffle crow hop technique registering 86 mph.

Run: 4.77 runner home to first.

Cash Williams: C/OF, (2025) Choctaw, OK. 5-foot-10, 145-pound slim frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a small load, then uses a short stride before his swing. Has above average bat speed, uphill swing plane and high finish. Was able to create loud contact during his round. Pull side approach. Behind the plate, produced pop times of 2.12-2.21, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 71 mph; has consistent feet, sure hands and a quick exchange. Flexible setup with above average flexibility. Showed a quick arm action and consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.3. Capable on the mound, had a short arm action and an over-the-top arm angle with quick arm speed. Uses easy effort in his delivery. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands soft with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-78 mph with a max of 78 mph; showed a straight movement. Shows a 12/6 curveball (67-68) with tight action. He shows some action on his changeup (67-69).
