PBR Spotlight Game: Division IV battle No. 13 Miller City at No. 12 Patrick Henry

HAMLER, OH - In a battle of two of the top Division IV teams in Northwest Ohio, No. 13 Miller City and No. 12 Patrick Henry, the Wildcats came away victorious 2-1 in a well played contest.

was a pitchers duel for most of the contest as Ohio University commit Josh Petersen (pictured above to left) and Miller City's Ross Lehman (pictured above to right) battled for five plus innings, in what turned out to be a beautiful day for baseball.

The junior, Lehman won the battle today going six strong inning, allowing one run on four hits, four walks and two HBPs while striking out seven and throwing from all angles. Petersen matched Lehman pitch-for-pitch going five strong innings allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Petersen sat 83-84 topping out at 85. The righty also showcased a sharp-breaking curve.

Hunter Berner (senior, catcher) got the Wildcat attack going in the top of the first inning with a single to right. Jered Fuke (junior, third basemen) drove Berner in with an RBI double to the right-center gap to drive home the first run of the contest.

The score remain 1-0 until Kollin Spence (senior, CF) walked. Petersen (ranked number 83 in the 2014 class, pictured right) helped his own cause by lacing a double to score Spence who was on third base after a stolen base and error.

Jackson Lammers vs Pat. Henry Miller City's talented sophomore Jackson Lammers (shortstop/RHP, pictured) reached on an infield single. Lammers wasted no time, stealing second and reaching third on a single by Lehman. Fuke drove Lammers home on a ground out to second base to put the Wildcats up 2-1.

Lammers (pictured right) came in to shut the Patriots down one-two-three in the seventh inning.  
Miller City moves to 1-0 on the season and will next take on Continental on Tuesday.
Patrick Henry will need to refocus as they take on No. 23 ranked in Division III Van Buren and the 33rd ranked player in the 2015 class Ross Adolph.
