The PBR South Carolina - Piedmont Regional ID was hosted on Tuesday, August 7th on the campus of York Comprehensive High School in York, SC. The purpose of the event is to identify and provide a platform for those players from the 2019 -2022 high school graduating classes. The pro-style workout, run by our PBR South Carolina Scouting Staff, saw over 50 prospects from around the state in attendance. Per usual, the first roll-out from the event is the statistical analysis and top leaderboards from the day.

TOP 60 YARD DASH

Luke Wright (OF, Chester, 2020) headlined the 60-yard dash times recording a 6.97. York Comprehensive High School product Seth Franklin (OF, York Comprehensive, 2020) impressed with his 7.06 60. The tops in the 2021 class goes to Ryan Deal (SS/RHP, Rock Hill, 2021) the Rock Hill infielder's 7.15 was tops of the sophomore class  represented at the event.

 

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY

Not only did Hunter Parks (RHP/SS, York, 2019, Florence Darlington Tech) flash some of the most impressive stuff his fastball was up to an event best 87 mph. Coming off two innings of work at the PBR Future Games, Braxton Elms (RHP, Lewisville, 2020) took the mound at another PBR event and sat second on the top fastball list hitting 85 mph. Of the stable of arms present at the event, Dylan Smoak (LHP, York Comprehensive, 2020) topped the list for the southpaws with a fastball up to 83.

 

TOP EXIT VELOCITY

Jason English (3B/OF, Richland Northeast, 2019) showcased his big bat and power potential in his BP session as well as leading the top exit velocity at 93 mph off a tee. Joining him atop the leaderboard was Hunter Parks (RHP/SS, York Comprehensive, 2019, Florence Darlington Tech) who's recorded exit velo of 93 tied for the event best. Seth Moore (C, Clover, 2019) put up an exit velocity of 91 to pace the catchers at the event. 

 

TOP INFIELD VELOCITY

Hunter Parks (RHP/SS, York Comprehensive, 2019, Florence Darlington Tech) sees his name in yet another leaderboard this time topping it, tossing 84 mph across the diamond. AJ Joworowski (SS/3B, Fort Mill, 2020) was the next man on the leaderboard with an infield velocity of 81. Travis Elliott (SS/RHP, Gilbert, 2020) and Caleb Jones (RHP/SS, Strom Thurmond, 2021) were hot on his tail, both knotted up at 77 mph across each. 

 

TOP OUTFIELD VELOCITY

Luke Harris (C/RHP, Lewisville, 2020) & Steven Yarab (OF/RHP, Clover, 2020) paced the outfielders velocities on their throws home from the outfield, each registered 80 mph. Ethan Mitchell (OF, York Comprehensive, 2019) was the next man up at 78. Brayden Franse (RHP/OF, Fort Mill, 2021), Chase Dougherty (OF/C, Indian Land, 2020), Dylan Honaker (3B/RHP, Fort Mill, 2020) & Charlie Bridges (1B/C, Fort Mill, 2020) were all in the mix, each recording a 77 mph position velocity.

 

TOP CATCHER POP TIMES

Seth Querze (C/OF, Clover, 2019)  may have had the best performance behind the plate, at least he did in the statistical leaderboard edging out Luke Harris (C/RHP, Lewisville, 2020) thanks to a smaller pop-time range, however Harris took the over all best with a 1.95.
