Player Of The Week: IF Tyler Pruitt

2018 IF Tyler Pruitt of Sunrise Mountain HS has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Arizona Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance on the diamond. With most teams having wrapped up their seasons this will be our final weekly award for the 2018 season. Thank you to all the coaches who participated in our first spring in AZ.

The senior Concordia (Oregon) commit took the state lead with 35 stolen bases after swiping eight bags in only two games last week. Pruitt also registered five hits and drove in four runs on the week, bringing his season batting average to .465. Sunrise Mountain advanced in the state playoffs and stole 17 bases against Mingus HS in the first round.

For his efforts, Pruitt has been named the Prep Baseball Report Arizona Player of the Week for the week of April 23-29.

11/12/17 - Athletic 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame has plenty of room to fill out and become a stronger, faster athlete at the next level; 7.01 60-yard dash. Clearly the top infield defender at this event, showing off easy actions and good carry on his throws from SS (81 mph infield veto). With a contact oriented approached and good rhythm in his swing, Pruitt has a chance to be a contributor offensively as well. Very short path to the baseball, fighting to stay inside everything; should hit for gap power as he gets stronger. Can help most college programs in need of a 2018 SS and will only get better as he develops physically.
