Scouting Report On Pierce:
Matthew Pierce RHP (Guilderland HS, NY 2016)
Pierce stands a towering 6-foot-3 230-pounds and is a next level prospect. He throws from a mid 3/4 slot with his fastball sitting 82-83 mph with arm side run. He throws a gradual breaking 73 mph curveball with 10/4 shape. Mechanically he has a short arm action and does open his front side up early. If he lengthens out his arm and stays closed longer it will help increase velocity and action on his pitches.

Analysis:
Pierce has the size and body of a next level arm. He throws with a funky short arm action out in front of his body almost showing the ball to the third basemen, but it's working for him now, and with a little mechanical work he could clean that action up. July 2nd he sat 82-83 and he had run on the fastball, and there is definitely more velocity in that body. He has been invited to our Top Prospect Games Aug 16th at St. Bonaventure and we are excited for him to attend.
