With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Portsmouth clay panthers

Team Name: Portsmouth Clay Panthers

Conference Record: Southern Ohio Conference, 10-2 (2nd)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/4

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Pitching
  • Defense

Coach Outlook: "Started 4 freshman 3 sophomores last year. If these kids progress we should be able to compete for a league title & district title. "

PBR Outlook: A team to look out for in 2019 could be the Portsmouth Clay Panthers and head coach Marc Cottle. With eight starters back and a good amount of youth getting playing time in 2018, the Panthers will be on the prowl in 2019.
