Liberty Christian continues to maintain its stranglehold on top spot in the rankings as the Bulldogs have finished the regular season with without losing a game to a team from Virginia. Liberty Christian wrapped up the Virginia Independent Conference championship with its third win of the season over No. 5 Miller School.

Hickory moved up to No. 2 with a pair of wins, including a shutout of a solid Menchville team. No. 4 Western Branch won a hard-fought battle against No. 7 Grassfield on Friday night.

St. John’s College Prep moved up to No. 6 and won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship on Sunday, winning the Championship Series over DeMatha after sweeping Bishop O’Connell earlier in the week in the semi-finals.

Hanover re-entered the Top 10 with a win over No. 18 Lee-Davis. Greenbrier Christian entered the Top 10 for the first time this week as they continued their dominant run that began on Spring Break and locked up the Tidewater Conference Championship this week.

No. 11 Loudoun Valley avenged its lone loss on the season early this week and then added two shutouts for good measure, bringing the Viking pitching staff’s total to an absurd 11 shutouts in 16 games.

Atlantic Shores Christian entered the Top 15 as they won the Metro Conference championship this week in dominant fashion, with big wins over Broadwater and Portsmouth Christian. Joining them in the Top 15 is Colonial Heights, which is still undefeated after wins over Dinwiddie and Matoaca this week.

Millbrook’s undefeated run came to end this week as it dropped a pair of games to Woodgrove and Potomac Falls. Also sliding in the rankings was Deep Run, which had a bad day and took a pounding at the hands of Mills Godwin.

Patriot entered the Top 20 for the first time this spring with a pair of dominant wins over Stonewall Jackson and Osbourn. Collegiate also entered the Top 20 as they finished the season second in the Prep League and on a 16-game winning streak.

Falling out of the rankings this week were James Madison, Steward, and Bishop O’Connell. Friday was a rough night for ranked teams in Fairfax County, as Madison fell to McLean. Steward was swept by St. Christopher’s and Bishop O’Connell lost a pair of good games to No. 6 St. John’s.

Entering the rankings this week are Cosby, Glenvar, and First Colonial. Cosby has won 9 of its last 10, with its lone loss during that stretch coming at the hands of No. 3 James River (Midlothian). The Titans added a big victory this week as they defeated No. 18 Lee-Davis in a one-run game.

Glenvar enters the rankings this week as they have run their record this spring to 16-0, including a win Friday night over rival Radford and two wins earlier this season against a good Grayson County squad. Radford has been very good as well, with its only two losses this spring coming at the hands of the dominant Highlanders.

First Colonial also enters the rankings for the first time this week as the Patriots continued to dominate Coastal Conference 1, having not lost to a conference opponent while reeling off a 16-2 record so far this spring.

The staff of Prep Baseball Report VA/DC determines the Power 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games on May 10.
