Pre-Season Preview: Charlevoix HS

By Mike Penn
Michigan Director of Scouting

Head Coach Allen Telgenhof's Charlevoix club will look significantly different this year.  In 2012, Charlevoix graduated its seven seniors on it roster.

On the loss of his seven seniors coach Telgenhof said, "Four years ago, for the first time in many years, we did not have enough players to field a JV team. As a result we had seven freshmen on the varsity, some of whom earned significant playing time. Those players have now all graduated, leaving a big hole in the program. It will be interesting to see how the team responds, especially as we have only two seniors on the team."

In 2012, Charlevoix finished with a final record of 17-17 and 8-6 in their conference.  This year they will be lead by Tommy Zipp (CF, 2013).  Zipp was an All-Conference and All-District performer in 2012.  He hit .312 with 28 RBI and did not commit an error in center.
