Preseason Preview: Bethlehem HS

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

The Bethlehem Eagles completed their 2012 season with a 17-20 record, capturing the 19th district championship before losing in the first round of the 5th region tournament to Adair County.  The Eagles bring back 7 starters and 2 pitchers from last year’s squad, coached by Roger Robinson.

On the mound, the Eagles will lean heavily on junior, 6-foot-2, 170-pound RHP Jimmie Keating.  Coach Robinson also expects big contributions from junior CF Conner Ballard who hit .389 last spring and stole 25 bags.  Expect other key contributors to be junior catcher Blake Brangers and junior 3B John Riney.

A couple of sophomores are expected to make their presence known for the Dragons as well in  SS Jake Yates, and catcher Chance Bodine.

Bethlehem will get their season started on March 11 with a home game against LaRue County.
