Preseason Preview: Rockville High School

The Rockville Rox, led by Coach Bob Kyle, finished the 2012 season 15-16 overall but was tied atop the standings in the Wabash River Conference with an 11-3 record. Coach Kyle returns an experienced squad of four starters and three pitchers.

Leading the way for the Rox is senior right hander Nick Waltz. Waltz was 6-3 and recorded 95 strikeouts. Junior Dalton Clark was also steady on the mound with a 5-4 record and a 1.60 ERA.

Nate Fisher, a senior who plays multiple positions, led the Rox with a .318 average at the plate. Senior first baseman Ross Brown was a key producer in Coach Kyle’s lineup with a .318 average. Other returners key to Rockville’s success include catcher John Brown (2014), Trevor Woodard (2013), Kyle Paddock (2015), and Ben Cunningham (2015).

Rockville will look to its seniors for leadership and must get production from underclassmen to contend for another Wabash River Conference.
