Recently Chase Fullington, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed hitting SS from Farragut HS (Class of 2015), verbally committed to the University of North Carolina to continue his education and baseball career.  Fullington had been committed to Cincinnati before re-opening his recruitment and ultimately deciding on North Carolina.  We recently caught up with Fullington to discuss his decision.

Fullington: Everything; they have one of the best coaching staffs in the nation and they've been together a long time, they play in the ACC which is one of the best conferences in the nation, they have incredible facilities and the value of a UNC degree will be invaluable the rest of my life.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Fullington: Clemson, Auburn, Mississipi St., Arkansas, Duke, Vandy and Cincinnati.

PBR:  Where did the coaching staff first see you compete?

Fullington:  Perfect Game WWBA 18U National Championship.

PBR: What role does Coach Fox expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Fullington: To compete for a starting position in the middle infield and bat in the middle of their order.

Fullington: My dad and my hitting coach, Ash Lawson.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?

Fullington: Atlanta Blue Jays, 17U. The whole experience of the last two summers, living in Atlanta, playing with great players from all over the country and the friendships that I've made has been great to experience.

PBR: What are your goals for your upcoming senior season?

Fullington: Win another state championship at Farragut and continue to work hard and grow as a baseball player.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Tennessee?

Fullington: Will Neely from Hardin Valley Academy.
