Q and A with 2013 Baldwin Wallace Commit: Trenton Emody (Edison HS)

Trenton Emody, INF, Edison HS, Class of 2013

PBR: Why did you choose Baldwin Wallace?

Emody: I chose Baldwin Wallace because I really clicked with their coaching staff. Coach Harrison and his staff were great during the whole recruiting process. I also am interested in their sports medicine/athletic training program.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Emody: I was also considering Heidelberg, Ohio Wesleyan, Denison, and Ashland.

PBR: What was the relationship you had with the Coach Harrison and the rest of the coaching staff in the recruitment process?

Emody: Coach Harrison is a very enthusiastic and involved coach. He and coach Ulanski contacted me quite often, and we got to know each other pretty well.

PBR:  Where did Baldwin Wallace first see you compete?

Emody: Baldwin Wallace saw me first at The Buckeye Scout showcase.

PBR: Coach Harrison has been able to turnaround every program that he has coached.  How quickly do you believe that BW can compete in the difficult OAC?

Emody: I think the coaching staff is going to do big things with the team this year. The lineup this year will be integrated with their first recruiting classes, so hopefully we will see a fresh start.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help as a Yellow Jacket?

Emody: I think my biggest strengths are my defensive range and my base running aggressiveness. I think I will fit into the aggressive style that the Yellow Jackets have as a team.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Emody:I played for The Ohio Angels, out of Dayton, this year. The best experience I had this year was playing at the University of Dayton's field. Josh Jeffrey, a former Dayton player, was my coach, so he gave us a walk through of all of their facilities.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Emody: My brother, Taylor Emody, has had the biggest impact on me in my baseball career. He is currently in his third year playing as a Bobcat at Ohio University. He has always pushed me and gave me a positive role model to look up to.

PBR:  What were your stats last spring at Edison?

Emody:I think I hit around .340 with 3 home runs 18 steals.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Emody: The best hitter I saw last year would have to be Josh Makuch. He had major pop of the bat that I haven't seen from anyone else.
