PBR: Why did you choose Barton CC?
I feel like it was the overall the right fit for me. I really like the entire coaching staff, and feel like it will be a great place for me to develop. The visit went really well, and their facilities are top notch. They also have had a great winning tradition, as they finished second in the Jayhawk West last year.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
I considered all the schools that had offered me, but my final decision was between Barton CC, DMACC, and Garden City CC.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Coach McBride first saw me play in a fall tournament in Omaha with the Nebraska Prospects. We also had another fall tournament that was hosted by Barton, where they saw me workout. After that, they got in contact with me and we set up a visit.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Barton's success to send players to the next level and get the most out of them was a large deciding factor for me. I really love the focus Coach Biggs puts on performance in the classroom, as well as on the field. Also, they were very competitive in the Jayhawk Conference, and at one time last year were ranked in the top 20 in the country.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
My parents have helped me get to where I am today. They have given me so much support in helping me achieve my goals. I can't say enough about how grateful I am for them. Jake Hoover, my high school coach at Roncalli, has really helped me and the rest of the team develop and he's helped a ton in my recruiting process. Tyler Goodro has been a great coach and mentor to me, and has helped me be the catcher I am today. Lastly, Rollie Kenny, and the entire Nebraska Prospects organization has been top notch, and really helped me get my name out there this fall.
PBR: Going into your senior season next spring, what are your expectations for your team?
We have some high expectations going into the spring after winning Class B Legion State over the summer. We are only losing one starting senior, and our entire pitching staff is coming back. Our team is really close, and we have all been playing together for 4 years now.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
They plan on me competing for playing time with another incoming freshman catcher, and helping the team win anyway I can.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Winning Class B Legion State this summer.
PBR: Who is the best player you have played against in the state?
Alec Bohm -- although I never had to compete against him, in my freshman year at Roncalli we played in scrimmages, and his ability was amazing.
