Quick Hits: 2021 Top Prospect Games

Zach Kress, C, Corona Del Sol
Kress is as smooth behind the plate as they come. His pop time came in 1.91, thanks to his quick feet and release. He hit multiple balls well in the game portion, both resulting in doubles. If the bat continues to come along, Kress will be a very well known name to college coaches.

Jayden Smith, OF, Campo Verde
Smith jumped onto the scene after a monster tournament a few weeks ago in Peoria. The smaller frame as pop through the middle of the field to his pull side. Simple set up and swing, combined with his athleticism allow him to make consistent hard contact. He ran a 6.7 and had an exit velo of 87.

Spencer Seigworth, RHP, Valley Christian
The 6’1 long limbed righty with plenty of projection remaining was up to 85 and controlled the strike zone well with his fastball. Breaking ball was at 74 MPH and has a chance to be a solid pitch for him in the future.

Robert Liddington Jr., LHP, Horizon
The lefty had the best changeup at the event. His fastball was up to 78 MPH and change was thrown at 72 with arm speed and depth out of the same slot as his fastball.

Valentin Flores Jr., LHP, Mountain Pointe
Low ¾ arm slot added a ton of arm side run on his fastball up to 83, while adding angle to make it a tough look for both righties and lefties. He used his mid-60’s breaking ball to back foot righties and to get multiple awkward takes from them. Change up is solid also with depth at 72 MPH

TJ Oster, SS, Valley Christian
Oster is a good athlete that is just starting to scratch the surface of his ability. While he didn’t have the best BP, his game may have been the best out of the entire event. The switch hitter had extra base hits from both sides of the plate, showing a playable run tool.

Anthony Makinster, 2B, Chandler
Makinster had a solid day overall, he made multiple tough plays in the field and barreled a few balls up as well. He has improved quickly over the past few months, along with his strength and continues to improve his numbers in the showcase portion of events.
