Rain Shortened Game Roundup for Friday, 4/13



It was a rainy day around Missouri, but the weather didn't keep a handful of games from being played on Friday. Here is a quick recap of the limited action from Friday:

No. 1 Liberty shut out Lee’s Summit North, 9-0.  Rob Henrichs picked up the win on the mound, striking out nine batters. Wes Jones collected three hits to pace the Liberty offense.

No. 2 Lee’s Summit West got by Blue Springs 5 to 1.  Reigning Player of the Week Matt Hall picked up the win.

No. 5 Springfield Catholic beat upon Aurora, 13-1. Matthew Tipton went four innings, allowing three his and striking out seven. Brayton Ballenger and Danny Richardson, and Samuel Moore each drove in two runs to lead the Catholic offense.

No. 7 Clever won their tenth straight game, defeating Morrisville 10-3. David Pennewell improved to 3-0 on the mound, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning and striking out eight batters, and helped himself at the plate collecting three hits. Tyler Martin had two hits and two RBIs in the winning effort.

No. 12 Rock Bridge was upset by Blue Springs, 4-3. A four run fourth inning was all the offense Blue Springs would need, highlighted by a two RBI single by Austin Simmons and a RBI single by Kyle Roberts. Logan Taylor picked up the win on the mound.

No. 13 Eureka beat up on Lindbergh by a score of 7 to 1. Matt Hansenbeck provided a stellar pitching performance, going six innings and striking out eight. The Missouri State signee also helped himself at the plate, with two hits and two RBIs. Josh Stevens drove in two runs for the Eureka offense, while Trevor Fain, Mark Henken, and Dillon Brit each had two hits.

Raytown South defeated William Chrisman, 4-2.  Justin Chigbogu’s three run home run proved to be a game winner for South.

Winnetonka got by Ft. Osage, 4-3. Jeremy Shull’s three run home run in the first set the pace for the Winnetonka offense.

Francis Howell North defeated Ft. Zumwalt West 8-4. Kyle Schikore led the North offense with a two for three day at the plate with three RBIs.  Braxton Martinez, Andrew Curran, and Jeremy Warden each picked up an RBI on the afternoon.
