SCHSL 2018/2019 Rules Changes

Schools will have 20 days of open season practice during the designated time period set forth by the league staff prior to the four day dead period of each season.

  • Spring Sports: Dec 3, 2018 - January 23, 2019

  • The week of July 4th will be closed for all activities to include conditioning and weight training.


Baseball will be allowed 26 Varsity games and 24 Sub Varsity games.

  • These limits can now be any combination of tournament (to include pre-season) and regular season games.

  • Pre Season play may only be in the form of a tournament and can begin on Feb. 22nd. 





Pitch Count Rules and submission will remain the same as the 2017 & 2018 seasons.

> Limits are enforced at the level the athletes pitches.

* 7th & 8th graders cannot exceed the sub varsity pitch limitations regardless of level of competition.

> Pitch Limits are enforced per day NOT per game.

> Pitchers will be allowed to finish the batter if they reach their designated pitch limitation during the middle of an at bat. (I.E. 110 or 75)

> Pitchers that throw two consecutive days must have their numbers added together to calculate appropriate rest time.

> 1 Day of Rest = 1 Calendar Day

> A player who has pitched may NOT move to catcher in the same game/day.

> A player who has caught is allowed to move to the mound but may not return to catching.
