Senior Games: Preview

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the PBR Wisconsin team will make its annual trip to Mequon, Wis., to host its Senior Games event at Kapco Park on Concordia College’s campus. The event is targeted for players graduating in the spring of 2020 with the hopes of landing an opportunity to play at the next level.

The event is by invitation only, but there’s still time to register. You can request your invite today by clicking here. There’s nearly 40 prospects already set to attend, and you can check out the most up-to-date roster here, too.

For context, 25 prospects on last year’s roster have since committed to play at the next level, including INF Logan Mantz (Slinger; Madison JC), RHP J.D. Schultz (Stevens Point; Wisconsin-Stevens Point), and RHP Jack Perinovic (Menomonee Falls; Wisconsin-La Crosse), among others.

There are still some significant prospects left unsigned on the 2020 board, and a handful are headed to Mequon. Among them, hulking West Bend West first baseman, Lukas Broske. Broske is a strong right-handed hitter with playable power that plays from foul pole to foul pole. He’s an athlete, too, with the size and frame that offers added upside.

Also, keep an eye on Blake Hall, a third baseman from Random Lake. He popped up this summer when he made his first-ever PBR event appearance at last month’s Eastern Wisconsin Open. There, he came away from the event as one of the top overall position players in attendance. He has a twitchy left-handed bat that made for some sound gap-to-gap contact in batting practice, and he also ran the day’s quickest 60-yard dash.

On the mound, look for LHP Addison Hocheaver (Badger), RHP Joe DuCharme (Verona Area), Quinn Berglin (Pewaukee) to steal some looks. Joseph Pettit (Marquette University) could earn some glances. We haven’t seen him at a showcase in over a year, where he was a low-80s righty with a feel to spin a breaking ball.
