SoCal Diamond Notes 3/18/19 - 3/24/19

The following players had impressive performances during the week of March 11-March 17, and though not selected as Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

2019 RHP Tyson Heaton - Yucaipa HS - The BYU commit had 16 Ks against Cajon HS for a 1-0 league win last Tuesday.

2019 LHP Cole Rawlings - San Juan Hills - The Westcliff University commit threw a CG against Laguna Hills in Sea View League play. He had a 2H shutout with 5 Ks.

2019 SS Reece Berger - Corona del Mar HS - A SDSU signee, Berger was 7-for-16 for the week with 3 2B, 2 3B, 6 RBI, 1 HBP, and 3 runs scored. He led the team to a 3-1 record for the week.

2019 RHP Drew Dalquist - Redondo HS - An Arizona Signee, Dalquist went 3-for-6 with 2 HR's, 5 RBI's, and 5 runs scored. On the mound he went 4 IP, with 0 runs,0 hits, and 10 Ks.

2019 Robert Chagolla - La Sierra HS - Chagolla threw a CG SO with only 2 hits to lead the team to a 1-0 win over Hillcrest. At the plate he went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the West Valley Championship Game win.

2019 Ean Medeiros - La Sierra HS - At the plate Medeiros went 2-for-2 with 1 2B, and 3 RBIs. On the mound he threw a CG for the win. He only allowed 3H with 1 ER in an 8-2 win over West Valley in the championship game. He also picked up the win in a comeback game in relief over Chaffey.

2021 Ruben Cervantes - La Sierra HS - He went 4-for-7 with a 2B and 3 RBI for the week. He also had a walk off 2 out 2 RBI single vs Chaffey to keep the Eagles undefeated at 10-0.

2020 INF Faraz Markazi - University High School - The junior went 5-for-9 with 4 Runs, 2 RBIs, and 4 BB for the week.

2019 RHP Noah Rinehart - Rancho Cucamonga HS - The senior threw a CG shutout vs Chino Hills with 5 H and 5Ks.

2019 C/RHP/IF Devlin Lindeman - Temescal Canyon - The uncommitted senior batted .600 for the week with 2 2B, 3 RBIs, 5 runs scored, 1 BB, 5 SB, and a walk-off HR. On the mound he threw 1 inning with 1K, and behind the plate he threw out 3 of 4 base stealers. For the season Lindeman is hitting .298 with 3 2B, 4 HR, 10 RBIs, 14 runs scored, and 6 SB. He also has 5 IP with 8Ks and has thrown out 10 out of 20 base stealers and picked of 7 runners.

2021 SS/RHP Eric Silva - Laguna Beach HS - The UCLA commit went 5.1 IP with only 2 H, and 1 ER with no a decision outcome. At the plate he went 4-for-7 with 2 2B, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.

2020 INF Jonny Long - Orange High School - Over four games he went 9-for-12 with 1 3B, 4 2Bs, 3R, and 5 RBIs.

2020 RHP Matt McClure - Santa Margarita HS - The uncommitted righty collected a win throwing a CG shutout vs Mater Dei that include 6 Ks and 4 hits.

2020 OF Dustin Allen - Arcadia HS - A Long Beach State commit, Allen went 5-for-8 with 1 2B, 1 3B, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs scored for the week.

2020 RHP Preston Howey - Arcadia HS - The uncommitted junior earned the win on the mound against Carter after 5.1 IP. He had 12 Ks and 0 walks. He is now 7-0 for the season.

2021 INF/RHP Mikey Easter - Arcadia HS - The uncommitted sophomore led his team to a 4-0 record in the Babe Herman Tournament. He went 5-for-9 driving in 4 runs with 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI per game. He now has 22 RBI over 14 games for the season. On the mound he went 5.1 IP allowing only 1 run in his first start.

2019 P Zach Jacobs - San Dimas HS - The UC Riverside commit threw a no-hitter vs Baldwin Park with 5 IP and 11Ks. Jacobs is now 4-1 for the year with 43 Ks in 37.2 IP and an ERA of 1.67.

2019 P Dillion O'Leary – San Dimas HS - The uncommitted senior went 6 shutout IP allowing only 3 hits, leading the team to a 17-1 victory. O'Leary was 3-for-4 with 2 2B, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI's for the week. He is now 2-0 and has not allowed any earned run in 12 IP for the season, and at the plate he is hitting .556 with 9 RBIs and 8 Runs scored.

2020 P/1B Jacob Vargas - Bishop Amat - The uncommitted junior went 5-for-8 with a SB, 2 RBIs, 2 R, 1 BB, and 1 2B. On the mound he went 4.2 IP with 7 Ks, and 2 BB in his first week of eligibility after the 30-day sit out period.

2019 SS Brandon Lawrence - Dunn School - The University of Michigan Commit went 6 IP with 5 Ks, 6H and 0 earned runs to earn the win against Fillmore. At the plate he had a grand slam and hit .635 with a .700 OBP for the week. He had 5 H, 6 RBIs, 2 BB, and 3 R.

2020 C/P Cade Ford - Dunn School - The uncommitted sophomore hit .677 with a .800 OBP for the week. Through 6 AB he had 4 H, 2 2B, 2 RBIs, 3 BB, and 4 R. On the mound he earned the save after 1 IP against Fillmore. He also went 4 IP with 3 Ks, 4 H, and 0 earned runs on Saturday.

2021 P Trey Pate - St. Margaret's - He had 8 IP with 5 H, and 1 run for the week, to earn the win for two games. At the plate he was 2-for-3 with 1 HR, 1 BB, 1 SB, and 2 RBIs.

2020 RHP Spencer Bengard - Valley View HS - The junior went 8 IP with 1 earned run, 4 H, 2 walks and 7Ks to help lead his team to a 2-1 victory over J.W. North.
