Shultz continues to impress the PBR Georgia staff.  At 5-foot-8, 160-pounds what he does not have in size he makes up for with instincts and baseball IQ.  Defensively Schultz is and has always been instinctive and reliable, knowing how to find an advantage and rarely out of position. Offensively Shultz has serious bat control and small ball ability and fits the profile of an old school two hole type presence.  Don't look for Shultz to be much taller, but he will get stronger and it will impact his arm strength and ability to drive the baseball.  He profiles as a premium defender in the middle of the field, that delivers on competitive AB's every time out.

The 5-foot-8, 160-pound Shultz had a strong showing here at the Future Games.  The undersized middle of the field prospect, did what he we saw him do all year on the defensive side of the ball. Shultz made several run saving plays and did it with more than his strong athleticism, he did it with his high baseball IQ also.  What may lack in size he more than makes up for with his range and hands. He is one of those guys that seems to always be in the right spot. Offensively Shultz has a singles approach and is still waiting on his man strength. In the future you can see Shutlz growing into some gap type power, but for now it is a solid contact approach that wins the day for him.  As a smaller guy Shultz has had to do the smaller things to win and his approach matches up well with both his 6-4-3 travel organization and his Allatoona High School baseball program. Somebody at the next level is going to get a winning player in Shultz and we look forward to seeing where he ends up.
