TN High School Team Preview: Livingston Academy Wildcats

PBR Tennessee Staff

The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

  • OF Dylan York

Team Outlook:

The Wildcats were extremely competitive in 2022 as they went 17-10 in a jam packed district seven. They lost two tight contests to state champion Upperman and handled most of the district, but bowed out during the district tournament to Cumberland County. They lost a decent chunk of their roster from last season, but they bring a workers mentality and look to put themselves in position to advance further this season. The headliner is ‘23 3B/RHP Aaron Moffitt (TN Tech Commit), who provides thump from both sides of the plate and will play a key role on the mound. ‘24 RHP/C Carson Parrott expects to anchor the defense behind the play and serve as the number two arm behind Moffitt. ‘24 OF Dylan York provides a lefty bat and be a leader in the outfield. It will be a youthful group behind this trio, but they’ll look to come into form and push into the postseason after a disappointing finish in 2022.
