Team Wisconsin: Game Two Recap

From July 26th through July 29th, the Prep Baseball Report staff will run the 13th-annual PBR Future Games at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA.

The PBR Future Games workout took place on July 26th, kicking off a week of action at the largest uncommitted event of the year. The best uncommitted prospects from the 2025 and 2026 from 40+ states will participate in a three-game round-robin tournament to showcase their talents. 

This event will run in conjunction with the PBR Junior Future Games. The Junior Future Games features some of the top up-and-coming prospects within the 2027 and 2028 classes, featuring a tournament-style competition in a 14U and 13U field of teams from all across the nation. 

Below is a game recap and top performers from Thursday's first game as they took on a talented Team Michigan squad.

GAME TWO: TEAM WISCONSIN VS TEAM SELECT

A quick start on the offensive end of the ball was the theme throughout Thursday, as Team Wisconsin stuck to the script in their morning matchup against Team Select on Friday.

The group of uncommitted 2025 prospects took a quality round of BP to start the morning, and followed that up with a four-spot in the first inning. 

Leading the way was the duo of MIF Preston Yaucher (Edgewood, 2025) and OF Trevor Vande Hey (Wrightstown, 2025), who combined to score three of Team Wisconsin’s seven runs. With two outs, Yaucher sprayed a single to the outfield, and Vande Hey followed that up with an RBI triple to right field, utilizing his quick hands and ability to allow the ball to travel to drive the baseball. 

In possibly the moment of the game, UTL Carter Kutz (Hartford Union, 2025) followed Vande Hey’s triple with a two-run home run to deep left field, demonstrating the trait that established him as one of Team Wisconsin’s best hitters. 

Kutz, along with RHP Ethan Bauerschmidt (Tremper, 2025), each featured mid-80s fastballs in their two-inning appearances, complemented by a sharp BB on both ends. The right-hander out of Hartford Union got the start and struck out three batters, generating multiple swings and misses during his outing.  

Bauerschmidt provided an upside look from a spin perspective, twirling a 2,500 RPM+ breaking ball to turn heads in Georgia. 

LHP Adam Kudronowicz (Mukwonago, 2025) provided more of the same for Team Wisconsin, working efficiently in his two innings of work, only needing 22 pitches to navigate through Team Select’s lineup. The left-hander ranged his fastball in the mid-80s, reaching 87 mph multiple times. He paired that pitch with a mature breaking ball, utilized as an out-pitch against left-handed opponents. 

The game ended with a look at RHP/INF Eli Bryant (Beaver Dam, 2025), an intriguing two-way athlete who has produced some notable work on the mound in the past. Bryant, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect, showed well in his appearance on Friday, striking out a batter and forcing a double play to put himself on the map as a quality arm in the Badger State’s 2025 class.

Offensively, Yaucher continued to produce at a high rate for Team Wisconsin, driving a triple to the right-center gap to score C Peter Visconti II (St. Joseph, 2025), who drew a leadoff walk in a quality at bat and manned the catching position for a couple of innings. 

Kutz was 2-for-2 on the day, barreling another line drive, along with a walk in his third at bat to round out an unblemished day at the plate. INF Jack Zeller (Indian Trail, 2025) had an under-the-radar quality performance towards the bottom of the order, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. 

That wrapped up Game Two of the weekend for Team Wisconsin, as they dropped the matchup in a 9-7 loss. They take the field one more time on Saturday, facing off against Team Missouri on Field 9 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
