Today, we empty out the notebook with information on several senior prospects. With many players graduating at the beginning of June, decision time is nearing. We will continue to provide updates in the weeks ahead as college still look for pieces to their roster and players still look for their future college destination.

Still Looking

Ben Hughes, RHP/OF, Tippecanoe HS

Still exploring his options as he has received DII offers, but is leaving the door open for the right situation with a Division I proram. Hughes has been up 87 mph this spring, but typically sits in the 83-86 mph range with an assortment of pitches. Overall, he is an exceptional athlete that also shows the ability to play the field and swing the bat. Over the past few years, he has also been the starting quarterback for the Tippecanoe varsity football team. Maintains 4.0 GPA.

Austin Middlemus, C/RHP/IF, Lakewood HS

Right now, Middlemus says that Otterbein is his top choice. The two-way prospect, who should make an immediate impact at the Division III level, has also received interest from Division II programs, notably Ohio Dominican as of late. Regardless of where he ends up, Middlemus figures to help a program in multiple ways with a mid 80’s fastball and physical presence behind the plate.

Jon Laird, RHP, St. Edward

Recently, we saw the righty sitting 81-84 mph. In our latest conversations, he noted that he has been in contact with Cincinnati, Ohio, Central Michigan, and a few other schools.

Bryan Janson, IF, Beavercreek HS

The speedy, athletic infielder currently holds Division II and Division III, but is exploring his options.

Kendle Stiner, RHP/IF, Keystone HS

The strong, physical prospect has recently visited Mt. Union and John Carroll. He is leading Lorain County in strikeouts while holding a 6-0 record on the mound and .520 average at the plate. Last August, he showed off an 84-85 mph fastball at the Unsigned Senior Games.

+ Nolan Dyko, LHP, Revere HS

+ TJ Dunn, OF, Mason HS
