The Year In Review - 2022

Each of us here at PBR Ohio want to thank you for making 2022 the best year yet. We look forward to continuing to bring the best baseball coverage to the Buckeye State. Happy Holidays to all!

"2022 has been such an awesome year for PBR Ohio. Our core staff worked well together and all our interns made a major impact. I believe we are set up better than ever to continue to provide exposure to athletes and help them accomplish their dream of playing at the next level." - Jordan Chiero, PBR Ohio Director of Scouting

"I feel with the relationships we've made and the experiences I had personally throughout these past 12 months, that 2022 was a banner year for PBR Ohio. Being able to help high school athletes reach their dreams of playing at the next level while building personal relationships is something I enjoy daily. The showcase season is great and I love everything about it, but as most who know me understand, I love the high school and summer seasons and I'd like to thank all who made those two seasons the best we could make them. Thanks to the interns that helped a bunch during the year, as well as all of our full time guys, each have brought something to PBR Ohio that has made it what it is now. I also want to thank the outstanding hospitality provided by the OHSAA and the Akron Rubberducks MiLB organization at the state tournament (See below). Thank you very much to the athletes, parents, coaches and all in the great Buckeye State and have a great holiday season."- Dylan Hefflinger, PBR Ohio Editor in Chief/NW Ohio Scout

"It has been a joy to hear so many stories over the years from baseball players reaching their dreams by committing to play at the collegiate level or even professionally. It never gets old listening to what all went into their journey to continue playing after high school, all the hard work put in and the help each received along the way from parents, family, coaches, friends, teammates and PBR. It is also enjoyable to go out in the spring and watch many of these players compete to the best of their abilities with hopes of reaching the state tournament. That three-day event in Akron is so much fun to watch as well as write about. And there is no more anticipation from yours truly when it comes to attending the Future Games in Georgia at the end of summer. To be part of that atmosphere is electrifying. It is always interesting to talk to the players and coaches to get their view of what it means to be involved in such a prestigious event." - Bruce Hefflinger, PBR Ohio Senior Writer

"2022 was a great year for PBR Ohio. We successfully ran high quality showcases and tournaments all over Ohio. Our team criss-crossed the state for 12 months to help maximize exposure for high school baseball players through our website and social media platforms. We have set some high standards for years to come, but I'm looking forward to what 2023 has to offer." - Luke Wolford, PBR Ohio Vice President of Operations and Multimedia

"The addition of tournaments in Ohio was worthwhile in 2019 and we have improved in every way in 2022. We tried to add another level of scouting to differentiate ourselves and I think we capitalized on that. In 2023 we look forward to developing current relationships as well as establishing new relationships with summer coaches." - Alex Schillig, Vice President of Operations and Multimedia

"2022, what a year for PBR Ohio. Can't say enough about the team Chris Valentine has assembled internally as well as the players/parents/coaches/organizations who continually support us in providing the best opportunities for high school baseball players to #BeSeen and reach their goal of playing college baseball! Our winter scout days were a tremendous success followed by unrivaled exposure/coverage all spring - whether that be at our Spring Classics on the weekends or conference games during the week, our presence was most definitely felt and it's super humbling to be a part of that. The summer circuit was another huge success, seeing loads of talent at all of our events capped off by a great trip to Lakepoint Sports for the 2022 Future Games, where we've seen north of 18 players from #TeamOhio make their college commitments! I can't wait to continue building off of the success we've had over the past year and anxiously await a special 2023 year for our team." - Alex Stefanelli, Director of Social Media

"The past year was a great success for PBR Ohio. There was present growth as a company, as well as personal growth for myself. It is always a pleasure to connect and form relationships with players, coaches and parents from a variety of backgrounds. I find satisfaction in passing down knowledge I have gained through my playing career to others, as well as learning from some of the great baseball minds we have here in Ohio. I look forward to what the future holds and want to thank all involved for their contribution, of making this another successful year." - Genesis Hilliard, Director of Operations

"I would define 2022 as a year of growth from our team. This was the second full year that I have been apart of the PBR team and things really started to come together this year. On the Tournament front, we had a better grasp of what to expect and I feel we put on great events almost every weekend. Our scouting coverage improved immensely and most of all, the communication between both our tournament team and our scouting group got a lot better. The resources that PBR provided our tournament group were amazing allowed us to put on great events that allowed all the team involved to have a great experience. My favorite event from 2022 didn't happen in the travel season, but actually the spring season when we put on the PBR High School Invitational. It was great experience to match some of the best programs together in the state and put them in a tournament environment. You saw a lot of the same emotions come out in the players that you typically see in Akron in May. 2022 was a great year and I expect 2023 to be even better!" - Phil O'Shea, Ohio Tournament Director
