Landon Price: LHP/1B, (2022) Lincolnview, OH. Ohio State Commit, 5-foot-10, 175-pound. Advanced on the mound, showing quick arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Athletic balance point. Displayed a clean finish Curveball (67-69 mph), changeup (76-77 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 86-88 mph.
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: High leg kick with fast arm action. Sits back and drives through delivery. Ideal delivery to develop with.
Fastball: 79-82mph Attacks the inside corner with ability to locate on both corners of the plate.
Curveball: 66-67mph. 12/6 movement with sharp break. Above average offering.
Changeup: 73-74mph. Enough to disrupt the hitters timing.
Pitchability: High pitch ability. Throws both pitches in the zone consistently on both sides of the plate.
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 155 pound thin frame with plenty of room to add.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Showed off a very polished delivery with great lower half load and a loose arm action. Threw with good intent.
Fastball: 78-80 mph. Pitch stayed mostly straight, but showed life through the zone. Plus command.
Curveball: 63-64 mph. Filled up the zone with the pitch. 1-7 shape with good depth.
Changeup: 70-73 mph. Filled the zone up. Pitch stayed mostly straight, but showed some arm side fade and sink at times.
Pitchability: Filled up the zone with all three pitches. Curveball was the best of the secondary offerings with swing and miss potential. Change-up showed signs of being a plus pitch.
Additional Comments: High Follow for 2022 class. Look for velo to increase with increased strength and maturity.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance in the box showing a level bat path as he goes to make contact. Generates energy well in his swing for a ‘22.
Hit: Nice contact overall created in his round. Presented ability to provide lift under the ball. Barrel action improved as round went on.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: TBD for now.
Run: 7.58 60-yard.
Field: Glovework presents playable actions defensively at first base. Footwork showed well in mobility with progression to continue.
Throw: 83 mph from the outfield.
Defensive Projection: First base.
Left-handed bat that starts in a taller setup. Leg kick timing trigger with simple hands prior to a nice, easy stroke through the zone. Slightly downhill path, staying compact through the zone. Impressive feel for finding the barrel. Corner type in the outfield. Quiet, smooth actions out there. Slinging arm action that projects for more strength down the road.
5-foot-6, 135 pound southpaw. Out of the windup, he lands slightly closed on his front foot and tends to finish towards the third base side of the mound. Arm slot is slightly above ¾. His curveball has some late life and has a 1 to 7 trajectory. He likes to mix in a slide step from the stretch to keep both hitters and runners off-balance.
