Scouting Report

3/6/17- Perez was lights out and showed why he has a chance to be an early-round pick in June. He sat 94-95 in his first inning, touching 98, and continued to touch multiple 97s and 98s in his third inning of work. Perez went three innings and gave up just two hits while striking out eight. He also had two hits on the day, a single and a double.

10/23/16- Miami recruit. Took  a strong round of BP. Showed an easy swing with above average bat speed and present power. Took multiple balls over the left-center field wall.

8/21/16- Committed to the University of Miami.

5/18/16- South Florida commit who stands at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds with a an athletic, strong, and projectable body. He is ranked 10th in Florida and 20th overall. At the plate he is quiet, relaxed, and has an upright stance. He gets a separation and hand trigger for his load and a small leg kick for his stride. He steps out slightly but his length allows him to cover the entire plate. Nice swing plane through the zone that is very easy but still has great bat speed. He has some length in his swing and shows advanced power for his age. In the field he has soft hands, is light on his feet for his size, and has a plus arm throwing across the diamond. From the mound, Perez can run his fastball up into the mid-90s. Look for him to be a quality draft prospect come this time next year.

4/27/16- South Florida recruit. Strong, athletic, mature body on a 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame. At the plate, Perez has a short, quick step for his load with quick hands. Showed an aggressive approach and good hip rotation with leverage. Stays balanced in the box. Has some juice in his bat and can drive the ball with authority. Makes the plays in the field, charges the ball, and has a strong arm from across the diamond. Did not get a chance to see on the mound, but has been in the low 90s. Leader and possesses good instincts on the field.

6/14/15- USF commit. 6-foot-2 210 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body. Soft hands in the field with loose actions. Stands up when he goes to throw but has an above average arm across the diamond. Upright and open at the plate. Relaxed and has good rhythm but does not have much of a load. Has a nice swing plane with gap power.

12/7 SF Elite tryout-Big thick strong mature body with big hands. 2 way guy whose ball jumps off his bat. Has some power and bat speed already at a young age. Decent actions with a plus arm at 3B. Limited range. On the mound he has a H3/4 slot with a solid delivery. Hides ball in back with some deception. Ball jumps out of his hand with very good arm speed. FB has tilt at 86-89 mph. CV is inconsistent but flashes a downer with some depth at 75-76 mph. Command is inconsistent, occasionally pulls off line. Very interesting young talent.
