Top Nevada Prospects Headed to the PAC-12

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

On this past week’s episode of Coffee and Curveballs, Prep Baseball Report’s National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt and National Supervisor Nathan Rode broke down the stacked PAC-12 Conference recruiting classes that featured a handful of the top 2020 prospects in Nevada. From power arms and big bats to “scrappy, gamer types” and elite level speed, the 2020 class brings a little bit of everything to the table and it would be no surprise if we see each of these prospects making an early impact for each of their respective schools come Spring 2021. Here is what the Coffee and Curveballs Crew had to say about our Nevada seniors headed to play in the Conference of Champions.

Pac-12 North

Paulshawn Pasqualotto, RHP/IF, California Commit, PBR Super 60 Invitee

“Pasqualotto just adds to the arsenal of power arms that Cal has been bringing in over the past couple years. With a fastball into the mid 90’s with good feel for his changeup and breaking ball, I love the upside he shows on the mound.” – Shooter Hunt

Gunner Gouldsmith, IF, Washington State Commit

“Gunner Gouldsmith out of Nevada, heading to Washington State, is just a gamer type. Really easy guy to root for.” – Nathan Rode

Josiah Cromwick, C, Oregon

“A high level catcher out of Nevada, Josiah Cromwick was an Area Code Games attendee. A strong right-handed hitter.” – Nathan Rode

Pac-12 South

Carson Wells, OF, USC

“Wells is a guy USC will sweat out with the draft in June. He’s an athletic left-handed hitting outfielder who can really run. I am a big fan of him. He looked good at the Area Code Games and when you pair that LH bat with the speed, what’s not to like from a pro standpoint.” – Nathan Rode

Jaden Agassi, RHP, USC

“Jaden Agassi, I really like what he had a couple years ago. His stuff is clearly there with a good frame. Another guy that I think is going to have draft implications for USC.” – Shooter Hunt

One of the most talent rich recruiting classes in the recent years, this 2020 group should make their presence know early on in their PAC-12 careers if they are not taken in the MLB Draft this June.
