Top Performer Report

'23 RHP Jack Davis (Arlington) is certainly an intriguing arm. The big bodied, strong RHP is 6-foot-1, 225lbs with an extremely durable frame. The righty is able to put himself in some high level movements down the slope, all while being able to move with some violence as well. Davis has the ability to delay any sort of rotation in his upper half as he gets closer to front foot strike. This allows Davis to snap his upper half down into release with a loose, yet snappy, arm action. The ball jumps out of his hand and has life into the bottom of the zone with some slight boring action down in a RHH dead zone. Davis uses a CB/CH off-speed arsenal to keep hitters constantly guessing. With the sinker being a heavy arm side pitch, Davis mixes in a CB with short, slider-esq movement to sweep away from a RHH and a CH he is able to zone up and pull the string off to induce, what we can assume would be, weak contact from hitters. Davis is a workhorse, starter type arm that will surely eat a lot of innings this season and the next to wrap up his HS career. The trend should remain the same into his college career as he will continue to mentally and physically mature, giving him the opportunity to be a very polished arm at the next level.
