Top Profiles of 2020: No. 12 Sam Robertson

We continue to countdown our Top Profiles of 2020 with '23 SS Sam Robertson (Oxford HS) who comes in at No. 12. Robertson was a member of Team Alabama at this summer's PBR Future Games and really opened some eyes at the event.

Robertson possess some premium athleticism and uses it much to his advantage in his game. Standing at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, he ran a 6.61 laser-timed 60 YD at the Top Gun Scout Day this summer. From the right side of the plate, he's shown the ability in the past to be able to hit for average and some power this summer. He posted a 90 mph EV at the Underclass Games this summer. Sure-handed with the glove and a strong arm to go with it. Robertson will be at the Alabama Preseason All-State event this coming January.

Scouting Report

6-foot-1, 165-pound mature frame. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.64. Began in an open stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick to initiate his swing. Has upward swing plane, explosive bat speed and good extension on his finish. Barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Robertson's 90 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Smooth in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; had athletic footwork, a quick exchange and next Level hands. Showed an-over-the-top slot with a very quick arm action.
