Top Stories of 2017: #3 - Future Games Continues to be a Springboard for Pennsylvania Prospects

Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

A group of prospects from Pennsylvania has represented the state in each of the PBR Future Games over the past six summers, beginning with the inaugural Team Pennsylvania roster in August of 2012. The initial roster included a pair of 2017 MLB Draft picks in LHP/1B Brendan McKay and catcher Deon Stafford Jr.

LHP Connor Higgins, a member of the 2013 Team Pennsylvania roster and a current junior at Arizona State, became the third alumn to hear his name called when he was also selected in last June's draft.

The exposure players receive in this one-of-a-kind event continues to play big dividends for prospects across the state. To date, 10 members of the 2017 roster have announced Division I commitments in the past six months.

This year's event will take place August 1-4 at Grand Park just outside of Indianapolis, IN. The 2018 Team Pennsylvania roster is in development and will be finalized following a series of winter events where PBR staff will have an opportunity to evaluate top underclassmen from across the state.
