TrackMan+Blast Hitter Update: Top Performers

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

At the TrackMan + Blast Hitter Update, were able to update prospects hitting metrics while their swings were being analyzed by the leading technologies in baseball. As data become more prevalent in the evaluation process, Prep Baseball Report has stayed on the forefront of technology game bringing TrackMan and Blast to every PBR prospect around the country. The metrics provided by these devices have become the ultimate separator of prospects over the past few years and this event provided insight to where certain players lied among their peers.

The Blast Motion system provided real time swing analysis that will be shared with players following the event to see what areas of their swings they excel as well as areas they may be deficient in to know where they can improve on for future events/competition.

The TrackMan system produced post contact date that allows prospects to immediately review the results of a batted ball, providing metrics such as Distance, Exit Velocity, Spin Rate, Launch Angle and much more.

These two systems combines produce an unrivaled amount of information at the prospects fingertips that they will be able to review sessions, track progress and compare themselves to see where they stack up against players in their class.

We had a talented crop of prospects come through the TrackMan+Blast Hitter Update earlier this week and today, we take look at the event's Top Exit Velocities. The event was highlighted by a pair of UNLV commits, Santino Panaro who achieved an event best 96.1 mph Exit Velocity and Gavin Mez who topped out at 95 mph. Along with these two D1 commits, we had an impressive showing by Team Nevada prospects heading to the Future Games in a couple weeks in Jet Gilliam and Joey Randazzo. These four plus all of the other prospects in attendance produces some impressive scores that have now been updated into the Player Profiles for College and Pro Scouts to see.

The Northern Nevada Prospect Update is coming Saturday, July 18 to Baseball Palace for hitters and pitchers to update statistical categories on their PBR Profiles for players in the 2021-2024 classes.

Hitting Session

Prospects will receive (2) rounds of 10 TrackMan + Blast Motion analyzed swings.

The Blast Motion system provides real time swing analysis that will be shared with players following the event to see what areas of their swings they excel as well as areas they may be deficient in to know where they can improve on for future events/competition.

The TrackMan system post contact date that allows prospects to immediately review the results of a batted ball, providing metrics such as Distance, Exit Velocity, Spin Rate, Launch Angle and much more.

These two systems combines produce an unrivaled amount of information at the prospects fingertips that they will be able to review sessions, track progress and compare themselves to see where they stack up against players in their class.

Pitching Session

Prospects will throw a 20 pitch TrackMan analyzed bullpen.

The TrackMan system provides the most advanced data retrieval insight on the market today. The TrackMan integrates with high-speed video, managing external cameras and capturing video clips directly into the app automatically – and pairing the video with each pitch. Pitchers can see the complete pitch trajectory in 3D, create defined tags to label and compare pitches, pin pitches together to create tunneling visualizations between different pitch types, and much more. Pitchers will have access to release speed, spin rate, spin axis, release height, extension, horizontal and vertical break and location on each pitch.

Key ball flight metrics will also live inside player profiles at PrepBaseballReport.com for the benefit of college coaches and recruiters, which will help prospects advance to the next level. Whether indoors or outdoors, the Portable tracks every ball with equal reliability to eliminate the necessity for guesswork. It combines the best of image tracking, radar technology and video analysis to output the most accurate data in every environment.

Data has become the ultimate separator of prospects over the past few years and this event will provide an opportunity to see where your metrics stand currently.
