High School: Remsen St. Mary's

Evaluation: 8/14/16- 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Tall projectable frame; should continue to add weight and strength. Controlled balance point, explodes down mound with good direction, lands slightly open, varies tempo and arm-slot disrupting hitter. Long arm action, some wrap on back-side, and ball comes out of hand well in front. Solid 3-pitch command of zone. Fastball was 81-83 mph. Curveball was 68-71 mph and changeup was 73-74 mph.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
WESSELMANN: University of Sioux Falls, Southwestern CC, Upper Iowa and DMACC.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
WESSELMANN: I took a visit Sep. 1 to the University of Sioux Falls. I plan to take one to DMACC and maybe Upper Iowa.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
WESSELMANN: I am looking for a school decently close to home with a good education program.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
WESSELMANN: My biggest highlight was easily winning Class 1A State Championship. Another highlight was being named to the First Team All-State Team.  This was my first time being on First-Team so that was a special honor.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
WESSELMANN: My biggest goal for my senior year is narrowing down colleges to the one that fits me best. I don’t want to have any regrets after picking my college. I am also excited to take on another year of baseball with a target on our backs being the defending state champs.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
WESSELMANN: I also play basketball. I am excited to play my senior season with the basketball team. We have some unfinished business that we would like to take care of.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
WESSELMANN: I currently have a 2.7 GPA and an 18 ACT.
