Scouting Report

9/8/18-  5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  7.09 runner.  Athletic.  Slightly open narrow stance with high hand set.  Body and hand load back with leg lift.  Rhythm in load. Gap to gap approach with line drive and fly ball contact.  Solid bat speed with consistent barrel and flashes of pop.  84 mph exit velocity.  IF- Good actions.  Sure hands with funnel back into body.  Stays athletic while fielding.  Quick release on short arm action.  89 mph arm strength with above average carry and accuracy.  On mound- Threw from stretch.  Athletic presence.  Solid tempo with good direction down mound.  Arm is quick and clean from a ¾ arm slot.  Some effort.  Fastball is straight and heavy at times thrown at 87-89 mph.  12/6 late break on 72-74 mph curveball with good shape and spin.  Change-up is straight with good arm speed.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Grindahl: Minnesota, NDSU, Delaware State, Iowa Western, DMACC, UMD, OUAZ, Southeastern,  Northern State, Lindenwood, MNSU, St. Cloud St, Iowa Lakes CC, Heartland CC, Cairn University, Kansas Wesleyan.

 PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Grindahl: I’ve visited Minnesota, DMACC, and UMD. I plan to look at Iowa Western at the end of the month.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

 Grindahl: Something with a good Business program, and I’d like to stay somewhat close to home.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Grindahl: Hitting 90 mph. Making the Perfect Game All-Tournament team for hitting in Atlanta. And winning the Minnesota Pastime tournament at Siebert.

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Grindahl: I want to make it to the High School State Tournament. And I want to make the All Star games.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Grindahl: No. But my hobbies are golf, and hockey.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Grindahl: ACT:22 GPA:3.8
