Scouting Report

7/15/20

Physical: Solid and thickly built 6-foot, 215-pound frame with advanced power throughout the lower half. 7.02 runner in the 60-yard dash showing off sneaky athleticism.

Offensively: LHH. Begins with a crouched, balanced stance with a deliberate bend in the knees / the hands start low at the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a short and quick lift and replace stride coupled with a move backwards to the shoulder for launch in order to initiate an efficient, flat barrel path into the hitting zone. The top hand dominated a swing with quick rotational power from the lower half, creating violent / loud contact at the front of the plate during batting practice. Showed off a mostly middle of the field - pull side approach with ability to pepper both gaps depending on where he is pitched. Advanced feel for the approach while not trying to do too much in the box, high level bat to ball skills with minimal effort, recorded an explosive 101 mph peak bat-exit velocity according to Trackman Baseball / whopping 27.80 mph hand speed per Blast Motion (one of the higher numbers posted in this category among all players at events in PA this summer.)

Defensively: The primary first baseman featured adequate feel around the bag with a medium-high center of gravity on the approach while fielding the ball off of the middle of his body. Accurate, high ¾ slot across the diamond with a small arm circle, semi stiff glove hand at the fielding window. INF - 65 mph
