Uncommitted Spotlight: '21 Alec Barrett

Alec Barrett is a budding backstop with a 2.00 Pop Time that was off to a hot start for Faith Lutheran before the season was cut short. His ability as a catcher has always been present as he possesses strong hands and a strong lower half helping him remain balanced throughout the receiving process. At the plate he was off to a great start, hitting .471 in which was supposed to be his breakout year with his easy, repeated swing that allowed him to consistently find the barrel. After speaking with Barrett, you realize quickly his level of maturity and why he was able to handle a staff of some of the top arms in the state. This is a prospect that has made significant progress, polishing different areas of his game and we are looking forward to having him out at the Upperclass Top Prospect Games.

Positional Profile: C. Mature makeup. Manages his pitching staff. His bat is beginning to match his catching abilities.
Body: 5-foot-10, 175 lbs. Strong lower half. Still has room to fill out and add strength.
Defense: C. Strong hands. Reliable receiver. Improving 2.00 Pop Time. Excellent balance behind the plate.
Arm: RH. C - 70. High transfer. Short, quick arm action.
Hit: RHH. Athletic set up. Rhythm in his legs and hands. Small knee to knee leg kick. Level hand path to the ball. Get the bat head out and gets extended. Can drive the ball from gap to gap. 
Power: 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. 
Run: 7.47 runner.

UPPERCLASS TOP PROSPECT GAMES

An INVITE ONLY event featuring top 2021 prospects from around the state. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 7 - Wednesday, July 8 at UNLV Players will participate in a pro-style workout, followed by simulated game-play. 

The event is limited in the number of participants.  Pitchers will be evaluated/videoed during live game action. Rosters will be organized/built by specific positions to maximize playing time/exposure for each player. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, please get your registration in as soon as possible, as roster spots are limited, both by total quantity and by position.
