Uncommitted Spotlight: Jake Noonan

Diego Solares
Staff Writer

As we continue to highlight uncommitted senior prospects across Missouri, St. Louis University LHP Jake Noonan may have one of the higher ceilings we’ve stumbled across thus far.

Noonan is a proportionally strong 6-foot-4, 205-pound southpaw that impressed at our GBA Scout Day back this past May. His fastball consistently sat at 82-84 mph with natural arm-side action to it. The separator is his breaking ball - a low-70s offering that flashed swing-and-miss potential off a sharp 12/6 shape and he throws it with fastball intent, too.

You can find his full profile, with video and stats, down below:

Scouting Report

9/23/18

Noonan is a big and athletic 6-foot-3 185-pound left handed hitting first baseman and left handed pitcher in the 2021 Missouri class.  He ran a 7.65 60 and a 4.85 home to first.  At the plate, Noonan starts slightly open and has a small leg kick gaining ground toward the pitcher with a slight dive closed.  He has rhythm in his hands with a bat wiggle and makes consistent hard contact to the middle of the field at an exit velocity of 89 mph.  Defensively, Noonan uses just his glove to field groundballs and fields them cleanly and gets his throws up to 74 mph.
