2021 OF Rocco Acedo (Red Mountain)- uncommitted, large balanced frame, athletic body, some present strength & athleticism with some room to add at 6-1/187-pounds. We didn’t know much about Acedo before we saw him in a preseason game, probably a month ago now. He quickly has made an impression on us and his coaching staff at Red Mountain it seems. He’s gone from hitting towards the bottom of the order to one of the top hitters on their team. Acedo has been hitting in the 3-hole over the last couple games on team that has a high-powered offense. Left-handed hitter, hits from an athletic base with slightly open stance. Uses a small knee turn leg lift, landing square and balanced. Pretty quiet & simplified actions. Short swing, displaying the ability to use the whole field with above average pop. His loose hands help him create whip through zone with some present bat speed. We will need to get a better look at him defensively but seems to have some speed with more than enough athleticism for a corner outfield position.
