After a strong performance at the Unsigned Senior Games in August, which included sitting 84-86 mph on the mound, Lexington's Brody Basilone is getting down to decision time.

"I have received a lot of calls from schools in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kentucky, It has been hard to narrow the schools down. Right now, I am considering Lake Erie College, Ashland University, Adrian, Heidelberg, along with some other DII schools," he explained.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect from the Mansfield area is a two-way prospect, showing the ability to pitch as well as play a corner outfield spot or first base.

To date, Basilone has only visited Lake Erie.

And, as a result, it is easy for him to declare a leader in the clubhouse.

"The leader right now would be Lake Erie College. They feel that I would be a two way player for them and that is one of the things I really want to do, at what ever college I decide on," he said.

He continued,"So far, talking with all the coaches has been a very positive experience. I have the closest relationship with the coaches from Lake Erie. They have called several times and we have built a good relationship."

Nonetheless, Basilone plans to see the process through.

He noted, "I am planning on visiting Ashland, Adrian, and Heidelberg."
