Underclass Spotlight: Class of 2016 Will Bouse from Herrin HS (IL)

Will Bouse, OF/1B/RHP, Herrin HS, Class of 2016:
Bouse is a lanky 6-foot, 150-pound player who showed versatility at multiple positions in the field and on the mound.

Defensively in the outfield, Bouse is aggressive to the ball, giving max effort to every ball hit to him. His throws were consistent to the target. At first base, Bouse works well around the bag, showing to have sure hands and accurate throws while turning double plays.

On the mound, Bouse comes from a high ¾ arm slot and showed ability to keep all three pitches down in the zone. His fast ball was thrown in the 61-63 mph range, 11-to-5 breaking ball in the 51-52 mph range, and a straight change with good arm speed in the 54-57 mph range. With some more rhythm and use of his lower half, Bouse may be able to generate a few more miles per hour on his fastball.

At the plate, Bouse has a balanced stance with a slight load. He takes a level path to the baseball, showing ability to pull. As he continues to fill out his frame and gain some weight, there is potential for some power in his swing
